Sharon Davidovich's article about Diego Maradona (Sport1)

The match ball from one of the most legendary matches in football history - where Diego Maradona scored the unforgettable brace against England at the 1986 World Cup in Mexico - will be put up for auction next month.

As I remember, Maradona led the Argentine team to win the World Cup in Mexico, and that game was probably the highlight of his career, and the most representative: he scored one goal with his hand (in a goal known as "the hand of God") and one goal he scored in a legendary slalom after passing five English players , in what has already been crowned more than once as the greatest goal of all time.

It is now being reported in England that the one who is putting the ball up for sale is the referee of the match, the Tunisian Ali bin Nasser.

It is estimated that the ball kept by Bin Nasser from 1986 will sell for about 3.5 million euros (!), at the auction that will be held on November 16.

Gary Lineker, who played in the same game in the uniform of the England team (which lost 2:1 to Argentina and was eliminated), responded and said: "How the hell did this ball get to the referee?! What audacity this referee has to keep this ball all these years, and now he will still pay for the error of judgment The biggest in history. Really??".

The Tunisian referee did not say how the ball came into his hands, but said: "This ball is part of football history, and it feels like now is the right time to share it with the world."

He also told about Maradona's goal with his hand, when he apparently jumped over Peter Shilton: "I couldn't see the incident in its entirety, I saw their backs when Maradona and Shilton jumped... In accordance with FIFA's instructions, I saw that the line confirmed the goal, and I ran towards a point the middle.

In an illegal goal. However, for the Tunisian referee it is a treasure, given the fact that only last May the shirt that Maradona wore in the game was sold - for 8.5 million euros, the most expensive sports item ever.
