It took until the 10th matchday for VfB Stuttgart to finally be able to celebrate their first win of the season.

After the separation from coach Pellegrino Matarazzo, VfB won the duel penultimate against last against VfL Bochum 4:1 (2:1).

Eintracht Frankfurt, who clearly beat Bayer Leverkusen, could also celebrate.

Mainz celebrated an away win in Bremen, Wolfsburg and Borussia Mönchengladbach drew.

Eintracht Frankfurt has also extended its good home record against Bayer Leverkusen.

Thanks to a strong second half, Eintracht won 5-1 (1-0) and moved up to fourth place in the table.

Bayer Leverkusen remains behind in the table with coach Xabi Alonso and remains in 16th place.

After the game was distributed in the first half, a curious scene caused Frankfurt to take the lead with the break whistle.

After a foul on Jesper Lindström, referee Robert Schröder correctly awarded a penalty.

Frankfurt's Randal Kolo Muani was denied by goalkeeper Lukáš Hrádecký, who went a little too far from the goal line.

So the penalty kick was retaken long after the game had started again.

Daichi Kamada converted safely (45th + 5 minutes).

After the break, a set piece again equalized.

Piero Hincapié headed a free-kick cross from Kerem Demirbay into the goal for Kevin Trapp to make it 1-1 (56').

Bayer were happy about that for two minutes, but then the team was behind again because Kolo Muani headed in to make it 2-1 ahead (58').

The preliminary decision was made in the 65th minute when Lindström elegantly lifted the ball over Hrádecký and scored Frankfurt's third goal.

Things got even worse shortly afterwards: A Hincapié foul in the penalty area not only brought the next penalty kick and Kamada made it 4-1 (72'), Hincapié was also sent off the field.

Ex-Bayer Lucas Alario finished the game 5-1 (86th).

Home and away games are still separate at Borussia Mönchengladbach.

At VfL Wolfsburg it was enough for Borussia after the 5-2 gala last week at home against 1. Köln to draw 2-2 (1-1).

The Borussia had the better start.

A remarkable combination across the entire field was completed by Marcus Thuram with strong nerves to lead 1-0 in the 13th minute.

After that, Gladbach seemed to have the game under control, but VfL slowly fought their way back into the game and gradually gained the upper hand.

This was rewarded with the 1:1 by Yannick Gerhardt, who scored his third goal of the season after passing Paulo Otávio.

After the break, Borussia struck again and again it was Thuram who reacted first from a corner kick.

It was Thuram's seventh goal of the season - and Gladbach's sixth goal following a corner kick.

The Wolfsburg didn't hold back and countered in the 69th minute with a nice direct acceptance by Omar Marmoush to make it 2:2.

In the first game after the sacking of coach Pellegrino Matarazzo, VfB forward Silas was the best player on the pitch.

The 24-year-old first dribbled past two players from Bochum into the penalty area, where the third, Danilo Soares, knocked Silas off his feet.

Silas converted the penalty due himself (3rd).

In the 22nd minute he set up Naouriou Ahamada to make it 2-0 for VfB.

The game didn't turn into a Stuttgart party for the time being, however, because Simon Zoller scored the goal after a great combination and an unsuccessful attempt by VfB keeper Florian Müller to clear the game (29').

In the 27th Bundesliga home game in a row, Stuttgart conceded a goal and thus broke the negative record set by Rot-Weiss Essen (1970 to 1974).

In the second half, Müller had to prevent Gerrit Holtmann from equalizing with a strong save before the man of the match made the preliminary decision on the other side.

A cross from Borna Sosa on the left rolled through to Silas in the backcourt, who scored with plenty of space in the left corner to make it 3-1 (64th).

Wataru Endo even increased the lead to 4:1 (71st).

It was the first win of this Bundesliga season for Stuttgart.

With eight points, VfB is above the relegation zone in 15th place. Bochum, on the other hand, remains last with four points.

Setback for Werder Bremen: The promoted team, who had been so successful recently, lost their home game against Mainz 05 0:2 (0:1).

Both teams started quickly, Bundesliga top scorer Niclas Füllkrug (12th) for Bremen and Leandro Barreiro for Mainz (29th) missed the first chances.

A simple but well-executed move gave the visitors the lead: First it went down the middle, then down the right wing, from where Danny da Costa crossed to the first post.

Marcus Ingvartsen ran in there with good timing and headed the 1-0 (36th).

Mainz remained the stronger team.

Karim Onisiwo became dangerous (56'), ten minutes later it was even 2-0.

In midfield, Anton Stach was hardly attacked and was freed on the left.

At the right moment he put the ball across for Lee Jae-sung, whose shot from a tight angle would probably have been harmless, but Werder central defender Amos Pieper deflected the ball into the short corner (66').

The game confirmed Bremen's weakness at home.

Werder have already picked up eleven points in foreign stadiums – only Mainz (twelve) scored more – but there were only four at home.

In the overall table, Mainz closed the gap to Bremen on points (15), but is ninth because of the poor goal difference, one place behind Werder.
