FC Bayern meets SC Freiburg in the Bundesliga top game.
Which formation does coach Julian Nagelsmann choose?
Munich – Julian Nagelsmann had good and bad news to announce at FC Bayern's matchday press conference ahead of the game against SC Freiburg.
Starting with the bad: Captain Manuel Neuer is out as he was in the Champions League at Viktoria Pilsen.
The goalkeeper is still plagued by painful shoulder problems.
The good news: Jamal Musiala has survived his corona infection and is an option for Bayern's line-up on Sunday.
FC Bayern line-up: Nagelsmann announces questionable Neuer diagnosis
"Without being treated with painkillers, he can't move his shoulder enough to allow play.
It doesn't make much sense to keep pumping it full, it doesn't get any better from that," explained Nagelsmann on the FCB-PK, which was played this time on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the morning.
The schedule did not allow for anything else due to the upcoming annual general meeting in the evening.
Nagelsmann hopes that Neuer will return in the DFB Cup game in Augsburg on Wednesday.
In Freiburg, substitute goalkeeper Sven Ulreich, who did well in Pilsen, will be in goal again.
Jamal Musiala: Corona returnees directly in the Bayern starting XI?
Jamal Musiala, Bayern's top scorer in the Bundesliga with five goals, was released from home isolation in time for the Freiburg game.
After his corona infection, the youngster benefited from the fact that the game only took place on Sunday and not on Saturday as usual.

"He is perfectly healthy, had no symptoms, not even a cold," revealed Nagelsmann.
Nevertheless, he will probably do without Musiala in the starting XI.
"He'll probably have to come off the bench first, after five days." After his Corona return in Dortmund, Joshua Kimmich was only substituted on at half-time.

Furthermore, the Bavarian hospital is thinning out.
Left-back Alphonso Davies was "free of symptoms and can play" after his skull was contused in the Dortmund game, Nagelsmann said.
He is confident that he can play with Matthijs de Ligt (adductors), as well as with Serge Gnabry (knee).
But you have to wait for the final training.

Thomas Müller, who had to be substituted in Pilsen with a back problem in the first half, is also available.
But you have to wait for the movements with the ball in the training game, says Nagelsmann.
Nothing should actually stand in the way of the original Bavarian, then probably again as a striker.
Leon Goretzka, who scored in Dortmund and shone with a brace in Pilsen, received a starting eleven guarantee from Nagelsmann.
"He played and trained very well, so he will play tomorrow." As is well known, Kingsley Coman is suspended, the Frenchman picked up yellow-red in Dortmund.
