JHV of FC Bayern: Because of Qatar – Uli Hoeneß threatens huge trouble with Ultras

Munich – The annual general meeting of FC Bayern is this Saturday evening (6 p.m.).

Not in the Allianz Arena Munich, no, the assembled members, the executive committee and the board of directors go to the Audi Dome in the west of the Bavarian state capital, where the basketball players usually play their home games.

The AGM takes place earlier than usual, usually at the end of November.

But then the 2022 World Cup will take place in Qatar.

And it is precisely this that is likely to cause explosives today in the Rudi-Sedlmayer Hall, as the Audi Dome used to be called.

As a reminder: The state-owned company Qatar Airways is a sponsor of the German Bundesliga record champions, which their ultras don't like at all.

The AGM 2021 therefore even ended in tumult.

And this year?

At the home game against Bayer Leverkusen (4-0) at the end of September, the organized fans sharply criticized Honorary President Uli Hoeneß after he had defended the World Cup hosts Qatar in the Sport1 show “Doppelpass”.

"State visits, training camps, thousands of deaths to celebrate the World Cup... It's only better for your own conscience, Uli H.!" Wrote the ultras on a banner in the "south curve".

Hoeneß was not bothered by this and recently suggested extending the sponsorship with the emirate.

Do the Ultras like that?

Last year they tried to overturn the partnership, which will end in 2023, by submitting an application.

However, this was not allowed by the Presidency under questionable circumstances.

And this Saturday?

It might get tricky.

The organized constituency is known for being well organized and prepared.

That should be the case again this time.
