SC Riessersee won the derby of the ice hockey Oberliga Süd against the Tölzer Löwen 6:1.

Lubor Dibelka scored two goals, but didn't celebrate - for good reason.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen –

It is something special for every player or coach when the next opponent is their own former club.

Many are then extra-motivated, burn for this duel like no other, want to give their former teammates a drink themselves.

Lubor Dibelka managed to do that twice on Sunday.

The SC Riessersee player scored twice in the so-called "mother of all derbies" against the Tölzer Löwen.

In the end, the Riesserseer celebrated a surprisingly clear 6:1 victory.

But Dibelka didn't celebrate - for good reason.

Out of respect for the Tölz fans

The 39-year-old is a fair sportsman through and through.

While his team-mates threw up their arms and ran towards him, laughing, Dibelka barely pulled a face after his goals.

Only a small grin could be seen on his facial features.

He says himself that of course he has the right to celebrate his goals.

"But I played for Tölz for four years and the fans always had my back.

I don't have to provoke them with my jubilation.

That's a matter of respect.” He also went into the duel with his former club, for which he had laced up his skates last season, without the drive to want to get one over on the lions.

"It doesn't matter to me, I just always want to win." But of course Dibelka also knows about the importance of the derby - for the region, for the teams, for the fans.

3253 spectators ensure an impressive atmosphere

Especially against a backdrop like this.

A total of 3253 spectators had gathered in the Tölz ice stadium and created an impressive atmosphere.

Much to Dibelka's delight: “That was outstanding.

It was really fun.

I hope it will be the same in our home game against Bad Tölz.

Emotions are even greater in front of so many fans.”

But how does he actually explain the sudden increase in performance of the SCR?

The native Czech found the key to this in Friday's game against Lindau (6-2 win).

"The third and fourth rows also scored goals.

We were all much calmer and everyone dared more.” The accumulated self-confidence then erupted to the chagrin of the Tölzer Löwen on Sunday.

Top game surcharge causes fan frustration

It was even worse for the hosts' fans, as they didn't just have to digest the derby defeat.

Frustration also built up around the game.

There were then masses of complaints about the gastronomy on social networks.

There were reports of extremely long waiting times and that the cup deposit could not be paid out after the end of the game because there was no change left.

The increased ticket price also hit the fans sour.

The Tölzer had demanded a top game surcharge of two euros.

The Riessersee fans don't have to worry that this variant will find an imitator in the SCR.

When asked by the daily newspaper, managing director Pana Christakakis assured: "We won't have that.

We are happy for every viewer, especially in times when

in which everyone has to turn over every euro three times.” At the same time, Christakakis was of course delighted with the 6-1 win over his arch-rival.

"It was an away win on the ice and in the stands." He was referring to the Tölzers, who were becoming quieter and quieter over the course of the game, and the powerful-voiced around 600 SCR fans who traveled with them.

Learned from the best

Six-point weekend for the SCR

In addition, Christakakis spoke of a good reaction to some statements in the preliminary reports.

Ralph Bader, managing director of the Löwen and manager of the SCR for 14 years, said in the Tölzer Kurier: "I don't want to say anything negative about Garmisch either.

If someone is on the ground, you don't step in.” Of course, he was referring to the false start of the white-blue team with three defeats in four games.

After this six-point weekend, things are looking rosier for the Riesserseer.

Especially if you remember Dibelka's statement: "Derby victories taste best."
