In Paris, France Football asked for the Ballon d'Or 2022. It was about more than just the new world footballer.

Behind Karim Benzema, Sadio Mané comes in second, third is Kevin De Bruyne and fourth is Robert Lewandowski.
Officially, Mané is still playing as a Liverpool player, since last season is being evaluated, but it's still a successful evening for Bayern.
Lewandowski, who is now storming for Barca, is also officially considered a Bayern player here.

As expected, Karim Benzema wins the Ballon d'Or.
The Frenchman contributed 44 goals to Real Madrid's championship and Champions League double last season.
He was top scorer in both competitions.

Ballon d'Or 2022: Courtois and Lewandowski win prizes as goalkeeper and goalscorer

As expected, the Yashin trophy goes into the hands of Thibaut Courtois.
The Belgian goalkeeper from Real Madrid was one of the ten best footballers of all time, as we just found out.
Kevin Trapp is sixth best German, Manuel Neuer is seventh.

Mohamed Salah, Kylian Mbappé and Thibaut Courtois land in places five to seven in the Ballon d’Or election.
That leaves Karim Benzema and Kevin De Bruyne alongside Robert Lewandowski and Sadio Mané.

Robert Lewandowski wins the Müller trophy as the top scorer for the second time in a row.
He scored 50 goals in his last Bayern season, in 46 games.
There were also six goals for the Polish national team.

Old and new world footballer is Alexia Putellas from FC Barcelona.
She tore her cruciate ligament after the season, so she missed the European Championships and was unable to take part in the action this season.
Now, for the second time, she has secured the Ballon d'Or féminin ahead of the English European champion Beth Mead.
Lena Oberdorf is fourth, Alex Popp sixth.

Ballon d'Or 2022: Mané receives award for social commitment

For his social commitment, Sadio Mané receives the newly created Socrates Award based on the Brazilian national player, who directed the Selecao in the midfield in the 70s.

Places eight to ten at the Ballon d’Or go to Vinicius Jr., Luka Modric and Erling Haaland.
That leaves Robert Lewandowski and Sadio Mané in contention.

The first prize of the evening goes to Gavi.
The FC Barcelona pro wins the Kopa Trophy as the best U21 player.
The 18-year-old midfielder follows his team-mate Pedri.
In the 2021/2022 season, which is important for voting, Gavi appeared 48 times and scored two goals.
The youngster prevailed against Jamal Musiala and Jude Bellingham, among others.
The Bayern professional finished third behind Eduardo Camavinga from Real Madrid, the BVB player came in fourth.
Ryan Gravenberch ended up tied for sixth place.

France Football
has now published a large part of the ranking.
The top 10 is still open. Christopher Nkunku, Joshua Kimmich and Antonio Rüdiger shared 25th place, while Cristiano Ronaldo, who won five times, finished 20th.
BVB striker Sébastien Haller, who suffers from testicular cancer, does significantly better in 13th place.
The top 10 includes Robert Lewandowski, Sadio Mané and Erling Haaland.

Ballon d'Or 2022: Lionel Messi's successor will be chosen

Munich – The football world is looking to Paris this Monday evening.
Because the French sports magazine
France Football
invites you to a gala a month before the controversial World Cup in Qatar.
The highlight will be the awarding of the 66th Ballon d'Or.
So it will be revealed who is World Footballer of the Year 2022.
This will be the successor to Lionel Messi, who did not make it onto the shortlist of the 30 best professionals this time.
The favorites are Karim Benzema, who won the Spanish championship and the Champions League with Real Madrid, and Robert Lewandowski, who noisily switched from FC Bayern to FC Barcelona in the summer and finished second a year ago.
With Antonio Rüdiger, who left Chelsea for Real, and Joshua Kimmich from Bayern Munich, there are also two Germans.
The Bundesliga is also represented by Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig and Sadio Mané from New Munich.
Erling Haaland from Manchester City earned his money at Borussia Dortmund at least in the first half of the year.

Ballon d'Or: Neuer and Trapp could become world goalkeepers
The world footballer is also elected.
Among the 20 candidates are Alexandra Popp and Lena Oberdorf, two DFB internationals from VfL Wolfsburg.
With Manuel Neuer from FC Bayern and Kevin Trapp from Eintracht Frankfurt, there are also two Germans in the top 10 for the Jaschin trophy for the best goalkeeper. Gianluigi Donnarumma from Paris St. Germain, the defending champion, is also absent here.
In the Kopa trophy for the best U21 player, the Bundesliga is in the top 10 six times.
Nominated are Karim Adeyemi and Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund, Ryan Gravenberch and Jamal Musiala from FC Bayern, Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen and Josko Gvardiol from RB Leipzig.
There is also the Müller Trophy for top scorer, named after Gerd Müller, so this is the only objective choice.
The 2021/2022 season is the evaluation period, which is why professionals like Mané or Haaland who switched in the summer officially compete as players from their former clubs.
