Voila system!
Gonzalo Higuain played his last career game tonight (between Monday and Tuesday), and said goodbye to the pitch in tears.
The Argentinian striker ended his career as a footballer after his team Inter Miami lost 3:0 to New York City in the playoffs of the MLS league, and could not hold back the tears.
In recent seasons Higuain was already far from his peak, although this season he finished in a good way, with 14 goals in his last 16 games.
He recently said he would not want to be a part of football in the near future, following the "toxic atmosphere" surrounding the game at the highest levels.
"The dream is over, now a new life begins. I want to be remembered as a good person, because that's the most important thing," Pipita said at the press conference after the game, "17 years of career, that's half of my life. Images from all the years came to my mind, but I'm leaving very Happy because I gave everything until today."
Higuain also said that after his career he would like to engage in mental training: "It's the most important thing in the game. You can have all the talent but if you're not in good shape mentally, none of that really matters."
After making his debut at River Plate in 2005, Higuain moved to Real Madrid and scored 121 goals and won three Spanish league titles.
But in Italy he recorded his record season, when he scored 36 goals in a season in the Napoli uniform and led them to win the cup.
From there he moved to Juventus for 90 million euros, with whom he won three championships and two cups.
He was then loaned to AC Milan and Chelsea, before moving to the MLS.
His coach Phil Neville: "He's leaving in the right way. The goals he scored, the joy he brought on the field and the support for his teammates is exactly what we expected from him. He can be proud, he made adjustments after playing in Europe. You think it's easy to get here, but it's not, here It takes time to adapt."
