Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo has been suspended by Manchester United.
Reason are events in the game against Tottenham.
Manchester – Times are tough for the former world footballer Cristiano Ronaldo.
The 37-year-old is a banker at Manchester United and wants to leave the club, but is apparently not allowed to.
Now there is a new peak in the football drama: Manchester United has suspended CR7.
Manchester United made it short and sweet: "Cristiano Ronaldo will not be part of the Manchester United squad for this Saturday's Premier League game against Chelsea." This brief message on the club's website announced the move on Thursday.
Then came an afterthought that almost sounds like a dig at the Portuguese: "The rest of the squad is fully focused on preparing for this game."

The trigger for this step was probably Ronaldo's premature departure in the game against Tottenham Hotspur.
In the 88th minute, CR7 left Old Trafford in a frustrated reserve shirt.
The game wasn't over yet - he could have been substituted on.
Of course, the scene did not go unnoticed by the cameras and fans and triggered a wave of outrage.
"Sorry, but that's unacceptable.
It's so pathetic," said England football idol Gary Lineker after the Red Devils' 2-0 win.

Ronaldo apparently rejected the late substitution and left the stadium instead.

He was initially taciturn.
"I'll deal with it on Thursday," said the Dutchman.
Shortly after the incident, the coach did not want to add fuel to the fire.

In a conversation on Thursday, Ronaldo was informed of the decision.
So far, there has been no statement about a possible fine.
According to the English press, Ronaldo faces a maximum penalty of two weeks' salary.
