Summary: Standard Liège - Anderlecht 1:3 (the game blew up) (Sport1)
The winds are raging in Anderlecht, and not only in the stands, where the fans caused the explosion of the match against Standard Liege yesterday (Sunday) after their team fell behind 3:1, but also on the field - and Lior Rafalov is at the center of things.
In Belgium, the spotlight was turned on the confrontation that took place on the grass between the Israeli midfielder and his teammate, right before the Anderlecht fans started a fireworks display and forced the referee to end the game prematurely and award the victory to Liège.
The coach chose to replace Rafalov in the 61st minute, and the brakeman Wesley Hodt apparently urged the Israeli to rush down to the bench.
The midfielder, who scored his team's temporary advantage goal in the third minute, responded with a gesture of silence that was caught on camera, while in Belgium they claim that he also hissed a number of curses at Hodt.
By the way, this is not the first time that the tension between the two has come to light: just last February, Rafalov and Hodet clashed in the dressing room, at halftime of the match against Union Saint-Gilloise.
Rafalov's silencing
The Purples are having a low season and are ranked 12th in the Belgian league table, with six losses in the last seven games in all formats, including four in a row and a single win in the last five league rounds.
