Gérald Darmanin announced on Tuesday that he had asked the prefects concerned to "
prepare zero crime plans
" on the sites hosting the 2024 Olympic Games.
Heard by the Culture and Laws Committees of the Senate, the Minister of the Interior added that “
5,500 anti-delinquency operations, including 3,500 in Ile-de-France
” would be carried out “
one year before
”.

Darmanin promises an unprecedented effort
Mr. Darmanin stressed that there would be an "
unprecedented effort
" in favor of the interministerial fund for the prevention of delinquency (44 million euros in 2024, the equivalent of a plan to equip 15,000 video surveillance cameras ).
These “
zero crime
” plans will be implemented during the Rugby World Cup in autumn 2023 and the Olympic and Paralympic Games in summer 2024.
