The cooperation with SC Riessersee was immediately filled with life: In the hit game against Königsbrunn, the first licensed player for Peißenberg already played.

Peißenberg

– On paper, the Peißenberg “Miners” squad for this Bayernliga season includes two goalkeepers, eight defenders and twelve forwards.

With a total of 22 players, the Peissenbergers are in the lower range compared to the competition in the Bayernliga in terms of squad size.

In the 15 Bavarian leagues, this ranges from 21 players in Ulm/Neu-Ulm to 30 in ESC Dorfen.

However, a team can hardly play with a full band, this also applies to the "Miners".

Through cooperation, Peißenberg's squad is broader

In addition to defender Lukas Bucher, who is in rehabilitation training after an injury, strikers Valentin Hörndl and Sinan Ondörtoglu will also be absent for a long time.

These two players had been seriously injured in a training accident during preparation.

"That's why we're happy if we expand our squad a bit," says Sepp Staltmayr from the "Miners" coaching team on the decision to cooperate with SC Riessersee in terms of "production licenses".

Riessersee striker Simon Gerstmeir played for Peißenberg against Königsbrunn

The cooperation with the Oberliga team was wrapped up last week.

The people of Garmisch-Partenkirchen hope that their young players, who don't regularly play in the Oberliga, will get more ice time with the Bayernliga leaders and thus gain experience.

"How exactly that will work out remains to be seen in the coming weeks," said Staltmayr, who in last Friday's top game against EHC Königsbrunn, which Peißenberg decided 6-3 in their favour, also played the first with striker Simon Gerstmeir Welcomed reinforcements from the SCR.

"He did a good job," said Staltmayr of the 20-year-old attacker, who started playing ice hockey with the Riesserseern and who has already played in a few premier leagues.

Coach emphasizes: No disadvantages for local players due to cooperation with Riessersee

Gerstmeir was deployed in the Miners' third line of attack, in which Tim Vogl usually plays.

The young Peißenberger was on the bench, but he didn't get an ice age.

According to Coach Staltmayr, there was a simple explanation for this.

"Tim worked the night shift that week and was therefore not in training." However, Staltmayr emphasized that the local talents will not suffer any disadvantages as a result of the funding license agreement with the SCR.

"There is no danger that the local players will no longer get a turn," assured Staltmayr.
