Marlon Wolf, Luca Allavena and Sebastian Cimmerman are currently playing big at the SC Riessersee ice hockey league.

What the three youngsters are still missing, they learn from their role models in the team.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen –

The Neue Deutsche Welle, NDW for short, swept across Germany from the mid-1970s and inspired the music scene.

Among them was the band Trio, which mainly attracted attention due to their minimalist style with only two instruments.

A trio is currently sloshing over the opponents of SC Riessersee in the Oberliga Süd ice hockey and thrilling the Garmisch-Partenkirchen fans.

Equipped with their instruments - racquets and skates - Marlon Wolf (20), Luca Allavena (23) and Sebastian Cimmerman (19) put their foot down on the ice.

Coach Cortina knows what he gets from the three players

Coach Pat Cortina is also extremely impressed by the WAC series – combining the first letters of the surnames: “I know exactly what I’ll get if I send them onto the ice.” Above all, that’s speed.

No other row of the SCR radiates so much energy.

According to Cortina, the main reason that the three harmonize so well is that they complement each other very well.

Wolf and Allavena are two-way players that unwind mighty meters, joined by a fast playmaker in Cimmerman.

The licensed player from EHC Red Bull Munich is now in his second season for the SCR in the Oberliga and has integrated very well in the meantime.

Cortina says: "He's part of our team." Young players can't always accept the situation of being under contract with a higher-class club but playing in a lower league.

Cimmerman accepted that.

"He understands that the most important thing is that he plays regularly, that he develops," emphasizes Cortina.

The player himself confirms that. “It doesn't matter to me to play in the Oberliga.

Match practice is what counts for me.”

In addition, he feels comfortable with the SCR, gets along well with Wolf and Allavena in particular - even outside the ice rink.

Going out to eat or drinking coffee together is just as often on the agenda as stepping on the gas together on the ice.

Although the trio ran together last season, this year Cimmerman is in Garmisch-Partenkirchen much more often and trains more at the SCR.

"As a result, our teamwork works much better this year."

The role models of the youngsters

According to Cortina, what the young series still lacks: "Consistency." Of course, that only comes from experience.

Accordingly, the WAC trio takes a lot from their fellow players.

Everyone has their own role model in the team.

Cimmerman is enthusiastic about Robin Soudek.

"He's one of the best with us." He is particularly impressed by the positional play of the Czech.

"He's so often in the right place at the right time." Allavena is a fan of Alexander Höller.

"How calm he is with the disc and how much overview he has." Allavena speaks of a high ice hockey IQ.

Wolf watches Lubor Dibelka very closely.

"He's an incredibly smart player, often takes one or two steps less than everyone else and usually doesn't shoot particularly hard, but rather in a way that fits exactly." And then there's Uli Maurer.

All three youngsters rave about the Riessersee veteran.

He combines many of the skills of the other players and inspires the young guns in particular with his professionalism and fighting spirit.

"He's the best role model," says Wolf, for example.

The three describe exactly the advantages of the mentioned veterans as their weaknesses.

You seem very self-reflective, open to advice and want to develop further.

Cimmerman is missing against Passau and Füssen

The next chance to do so is tonight when the SCR is a guest at the EHF Passau Black Hawks.

But only for two of them.

Cimmerman has to sit out this weekend due to illness.

It is not yet clear who will replace him.

Cortina names Anselm Gerg, another of the young guns, as an alternative.

Or Veit Oswald comes from Munich.

The Riessersee coach thinks a lot of the licensed player.

When asked about the 18-year-old, a thoughtful and meaningful nod follows.

"Yes, I like him.

He is humble, has enormous potential and the will to improve.

Munich itself did not expect that he would play so much at the EHC.” Accordingly, he would be an adequate replacement for Cimmerman.

Cortina's warning words

In order to survive in Passau, the entire team had to appear differently than they did last time against Klostersee – including the WAC series.

"The result was good, but not our game.

This ice hockey won't get us very far," warns Cortina, despite all the euphoria about the small winning streak after the messed up start to the season.
