The formation lap will start in a few minutes.

Formula 1 in Mexico: races in Mexico City in the live ticker – problems with two teams

Update October 30, 8:39 p.m.:

The race starts in 15 minutes.

There was already the first shock for some teams.

Kevin Magnussen radioed that something had broken in the back of the car.

Apparently the gearbox was the problem.

Not everything went smoothly for the two McLarens either: Lando Norris' brake pedal moved too much and Daniel Ricciardo had to abandon his test start again because the temperatures were too high!

First report from October 30, 8:25 p.m.:

Mexico City – At Red Bull, one controversy follows the next.

Now the team around Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez has decided that they will boycott the Sky television channel.

The racing team does this because it does not agree with the reporting by Ted Kravitz, the British pit lane reporter.

They should feel treated unfairly.

Kravitz has recently said that Lewis Hamilton's title was stolen last year.

Of course, the Red Bull doesn't taste good at all.

At the press conference on Red Bull's budget overrun, Christian Horner was visibly annoyed by the questions from the Sky reporters.

The racing team even claimed that these reporters were goaded by Mercedes.

However, it is not the first time that a team has boycotted the Sky broadcaster.

Günther Steiner has not spoken to Sky Germany since the race in Azerbaijan.

In his opinion, the broadcaster would show one-sided reporting pro Schumacher and anti Haas.

Mexico GP in the live ticker: chance for Sergio Perez to win?

After Max Verstappen's title win and the triumph in the Constructors' Championship, Sergio Perez is coming into focus at Red Bull.

Motorsport boss Helmut Marko finally proclaimed two goals: In addition to the victory record for Verstappen, Perez should take second place in the drivers' championship.

The chances for that are not bad.

Only two points separate Perez (265) from Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc (267).

In addition, the shape is correct.

The 32-year-old was on the podium five times in a row, in Singapore for the second time this year on top - a highlight, although not comparable to his triumph in Monaco.

Another win “is of course the goal.

We want to get the most out of the weekend,” said Perez.

We'll see if that's possible from fourth place.

Formula 1: Mexico GP in the live ticker - Mick without a cockpit for the 2023 season?

Mick Schumacher does not currently have a plan B for his career: "Plan A is the only plan that counts for me at the moment, and that I want to and will pursue," he says in an interview.

The fact is: only one racing team has not yet decided who will get the second cockpit next year: Haas.

It's about his cockpit.

Team boss Günther Steiner had already promised a decision after the Mexican Grand Prix.

So that would be soon.

In Mexico, Steiner said: "In Abu Dhabi we want to know who will be driving our car next year." That is not so soon, but only in a good three weeks, the Formula 1 finale will take place on November 20th at the Yas Marina Circuit .

Steiner explained that whoever is the chosen one can also take the test after the final.

Schumacher's main competitor is his compatriot Nico Hulkenberg, who is twelve years his senior.
