Just last week, the court of the Football Association made it clear that Maccabi Haifa player Omer Atzili will now be required to appear for hearings regarding the petition of the women's lobby against his participation in the Israel national team games.
Today (Sunday) on behalf of the president of the court of the Football Association, Amnon Strashnov, they announced that the high-profile hearing will be held on Wednesday, November 23 at 1:30 p.m. in the presence of all parties.
Now we can only wait and see if Atzili will actually show up for the discussion or if he will decide to retire from the Israeli national team even before the specified date.
As a reminder, the women's lobby in Israel opposes his invitation to the Israeli national team due to his part in the minors affair.
The first discussion took place about two weeks ago without the contact being present.
The court stated: "After carefully considering the arguments of the parties, we decided that these are complex legal issues, among other things regarding the definition of 'team player' in the regulations and the applicability of the code of ethics to the player.
"That is why we decided to add two more members to the composition of the court in this case, and the continuation of the hearings will be held before the composition of five members of the Supreme Court for the purpose of deciding the complex issues in this case... the actor Omar Atzili is required to appear for the hearings from now on."
