Less than a day after San Antonio's surprising announcement of the release of Josh Primo, the 12th pick in the 2021 draft, the circumstances that led to the unexpected move become clear: ESPN reports that the 19-year-old guard has been accused of making obscene accusations against several women, including a former employee of the club.
According to the report, Primo "exposed himself to women", and the former employee of the club, who was one of them, hired a lawyer and filed a complaint against him.
The announcement of the release of Primo, who showed sparks in the rookie season and only a few weeks ago San Antonio exercised the option to sign him for a third season, surprised many in the NBA.
In a statement from the Spurs and general manager RC Beauford, it was written that "our hope is that in the long run, this decision will serve the interest of the club and Josh", and in the hours that followed the rumors about the circumstances that led to the unusual step were celebrated.

Primo, for his part, put up a mysterious post, which hinted that he was dealing with a mental crisis.
"I know you are surprised by today's announcement. I asked for help to deal with a trauma I suffered and now I will use this time to take care of my mental health in a more dedicated way," he wrote, "I hope I can discuss these issues in the future to leave others who have suffered in a similar way. Appreciate the privacy at this time."
Now it turns out that the reason for the release is not a mental crisis of the player, but rather serious accusations against him, that it is doubtful that he will be allowed to return to play in the NBA one day.
