Paige Spiranak's golf performance (Paige Spiranak's Instagram account)

Paige Spiranak, who is known as the "sexy golfer", has become the most followed female golfer on Instagram, after amassing over 3.7 million followers.

She passed the two most famous golfers today - Tiger Woods, who is considered the best ever, who has "only" 3 million followers, and Rory McIlroy, ranked first in the world, with "only" 2.4 million followers on Instagram.

Spiranak, 29, a former player on the professional tour, is defined as a "golf influencer", but of course not only puts up professional tips for beginner golfers - but mostly revealing photos of herself.

Her popularity has gained momentum in recent years, and this year "Maxim" magazine crowned her as "the sexiest woman in the world".

The title made her even more famous, and today she is a brand that generates millions of dollars a year.

What started in 2017 as a modest sponsorship agreement with a company that markets golf clubs, turned into a long list of sponsors, sponsorships and deals.

According to reports in the US, she currently charges tens of thousands of dollars for every post she uploads that contains advertising content. She promotes fashion companies, a watch company, and recently became a partner in a gambling company. Now she even sells her calendars for 2023, at a price of 25 euros , in addition to other merchandise such as her shirts, posters and towels - all through her official website. Ironically enough, recently on her podcast she even complained about sexism in the world of golf, and the world of sports in general.

Last month, she was at the center of an affair in the US, after she was invited to serve the starting pitch in a baseball game of the New York Yankees against the Milwaukee Brewers. According to her, she received violent, harsh and blunt reactions, in which she was "buddy-shamed" and teased about her body dimensions on the networks .

"I've heard people say, 'Oh, she's fat, that's what she looks like without filters,' it was crazy," she said, "People told me I didn't look like myself... listen. When I take a picture, I obviously have good lighting. I obviously choose the best photos. There are many factors to a beautiful photo. And when you're in a stadium, there's distant lighting, fluorescents are directed at you, and what can you do, you won't look your best. I felt enormous pressure to look perfect, which is impossible. Even the most beautiful woman in the world...

"After the title of 'Magic' the sexiest woman in the world', I felt enormous pressure to live up to the definition.

I was very critical of myself.

Always make a perfect picture.

And it took a heavy toll on me.

"It's hard to explain the amount of men who called me fat after that post," she said, "I had to go through comments and delete a lot of them, which is something I never do. I know my body is part of my brand, but it's easy to keep I have to maintain a proper diet and do a lot of physical exercise. It doesn't come naturally to me. And when I get comments like that, it hurts and brings me down."
