That was strong: Twice the "Peißenberg Miners" were clearly behind against the ESC Dorfen.

In the end, they still traveled home with two points.

Peißenberg – The “Peißenberg Miners” coped well with their first defeat of the season, when they conceded a last-second goal against Kempten.

In the away game against ESC Dorfen, the team coached by Stefan Ihsen and Sepp Staltmayr showed great morale.

The Peissenbergers were twice behind by three goals, in the end they even won 6:5 in extra time.

"We came back well and definitely deserved the extra point," judged Ihsen.

“No team has it easy in Dorfen.

Everything is extremely tight in the league and it will stay that way.”

The "Miners" were able to fall back on the Mecrones twins for the "Ice Pirates".

"Both worked for the team even though they weren't fit yet," said Ihsen.

Nevertheless, the Peißenberg got off to a difficult start.

This was also due to the four penalties against the guests in the first round.

The "Miners" were outnumbered but did well and did not allow the home side to score.

However, very little went forward.

"That's why it was 0-0 after 20 minutes," explained Ihsen.

Derek Mecrones scores in overtime

In the second third, the game really picked up speed.

But it was above all the people from Dorfen who got rolling first.

Urban Sodja (27th) gave the home side the lead.

This was followed by a series of penalties against the "Miners", who used Fabian Kanzelsberger (30th) and Benedikt Dietrich (31st) with two overtime goals to make it 2-0 and 3-0.

Afterwards Dorfen players went into the “cool box”.

Martin Andrä (34th / 1: 3) and Dominic Krabbat (34th / 2: 3) brought the guests back with their double strike in the power play.

Sandro Schroepfer (39th) gave the hosts some breathing room before the third break with the unfortunate 2:4 from Peißenberg's point of view, in which the disc rolled into the goal.

Another goal from Schroepfer (44th) to make it 5:2 put Peißenberg back three goals behind.

The “Miners” fought their way back into the game with great morale.

Andrä gave the signal to catch up with the 3:5 (51 st ).

"It was a game on one goal," said Ihsen about what happened on the ice in this phase.

Brett Mecrones (56th) followed up with a solo goal.

50 seconds before the siren, Niko Fissekis finally managed to equalize 5:5.

The guests then took the momentum with them into extra time.

After 71 seconds, Derek Mecrones secured the second point for the "Miners" with the 6:5.
