RB Leipzig is the fourth Bundesliga team to reach the round of 16 in the Champions League.

After Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund made it clear in advance that they would go into the knockout stages and Eintracht Frankfurt followed suit on Tuesday evening, Leipzig also made it into the next round.

Leipzig won 4-0 (1-0) against the Ukrainian representatives Shakhtar Donetsk, who are playing their Champions League home games in Warsaw this year, ending Group F as runners-up.

Real Madrid took first place in the Leipzig group with a 5-1 (2-0) win over Celtic Glasgow.

Donetsk continues in the Europa League.

Leipzig got into the game well.

First Timo Werner failed after preparatory work by Christopher Nkunku against Donetsk keeper Anatolij Trubin (8th minute), two minutes later Nkunku was successful.

At first, Trubin was able to parry a shot from Werner, but then the goalkeeper was powerless against Nkunku's follow-up shot (10').

After his hit, Nkunku pulled a red balloon out of the nozzle, blew it up and cheered with it.

Unlike in the first leg, which Leipzig lost 4-1, which cost coach Domenico Tedesco his job, RB had everything under control on Wednesday.

Even after national player Werner had to be substituted with problems on his left ankle and was replaced by Emil Forsberg (19th), the Bundesliga club kept the pressure on.

Donetsk only became more dangerous towards the end of the first half, but the Ukrainians failed to get a shot on target.

Even after the restart, the Leipzigers managed to score again quickly.

A cross from David Raum went far too long, Mohamed Simakan headed the ball into the middle again, where André Silva pushed the ball over the line in a hustle and bustle (50').

After that, Donetsk had no access at all, Dominik Szoboszlai made it 3-0 after a pass from Nkunku (62nd).

Donetsk's Valeriy Bondar deflected the ball into his own goal after a shot by Dani Olmo (68').

Real Madrid were already safely qualified for the round of 16 in order to progress as group winners, but a win was necessary.

That's another reason why Real coach Carlo Ancelotti did not experiment and offered almost his best line-up.

The Spanish champions took the game against Celtic Glasgow, who had already been eliminated, seriously and took the lead after just six minutes.

Rodrygo took aim and German Glasgow defender Moritz Jens tried to deflect the shot, but blocked the ball with his hand.

Luka Modrić safely converted the penalty that was due (6').

As expected, Real was the dominant team and made it 2-0 with another hand penalty.

Rodrygo shot again in the direction of the Glasgow goal, this time Matt O'Riley had his hand on the ball. Rodrygo pocketed the penalty (21').

A little later, the French referee Stephanie Frappart was in focus again when she pointed to the point for the third time.

This time Scotland were awarded a penalty after Real's Ferland Mendy tackled Liel Abada in the penalty area.

Josip Juranović was denied by Thibaut Courtois, who made a strong save (35').

Real quickly followed suit in the second half – and this time even without a penalty.

Marco Asensio scored a volley after a pass from Daniel Carvajal (51').

Vinicius Junior increased the lead to 4-0 a short time later (61st).

The enthusiastic Spaniards gave Glasgow no chance, Federico Valverde scored to make it 5-0 (71st).

Glasgow's Jota marked the end with a free kick (84').
