Although SC Riessersee misses various chances in the away game against ECDC Memmingen, they still celebrate their sixth win in a row in the ice hockey Oberliga Süd.

Memmingen –

"If you don't score the goals up front, you'll get them in the back." That's one of the well-known wisdoms in sport.

Often true, but not always.

This was the case on Wednesday evening in the SC Riessersee ice hockey league game at ECDC Memmingen.

The guests ran usury, but were not punished for it.

On the other hand, they scored their sixth win in a row with the 2-0 away win.

SCR plays the ECDC dizzy

They left no doubts about that right from the start.

The route that Pat Cortina had given his men sounded something like this: step on the gas, don't let Memmingen get into the game, and after the turbulent week with the change of coach, their uncertainty immediately increases.

The SCR players followed their coach's words and dominated from the start.

The team of interim coach Daniel Huhn didn't know where the back and the front was, the Werdenfels team played it so dizzily.

The only problem: exploiting opportunities.

Already in the second minute, Robin Soudek missed the quick lead.

Marlon Wolf, Ville Hyvärinen, Lukas Koziol and Tobias Kircher then followed suit.

They all bit their teeth on the strong ECDC goalie Marco Eisenhut.

To tear hair for both coaches.

But then a small smile crossed Cortina's face.

Veit Oswald had worked his way up the puck behind the opposing goal and then spun it towards the ECDC goal.

The long overdue opening goal of the guests.

The SCR then survived a minority without damage and confidently before the siren sounded and the third ended.

The four defenders Jan Niklas Pietsch, Ryker Killins, Felix Linden and Simon Mayr then chatted briefly on the bench.

Topic probably: it's running at the back, not quite at the front.

Mayr also confirmed in the break interview on Sprade.tv: "We just have to keep going, at some point someone will fly in."

Memmingen is getting stronger, but the SCR increases to 2-0

He should be right.

Memmingen had just survived being outnumbered when Alexander Höller missed with a shot.

However, the disc bounced off an ECDC ice skate directly onto Sam Verelst's racquet.

He didn't miss the opportunity and made it 0:2 (37th).

Before that, however, the Werdenfelser had to cope with increased resistance from the hosts.

Now SCR goalie Daniel Allavena has also started his work.

He did it brilliantly, kept his box clean.

Otherwise, this also applied to his opponent Eisenhut, who made sure twice with strong saves that Oswald did not turn off again jubilantly.

Memmingen was better than in the first third, but still saw little ground against strong Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

SCR unlucky on offense, but stable at the back

Didn't change in the final section either.

The Werdenfelsers had the game under control at all times.

When things got dangerous, Allavena was there.

Sometimes in the best Manuel Neuer manner, when he stormed out of his box, was in front of the ECDC player at the target and immediately initiated the counterattack.

Looked good, as did so many offensive actions from the guests.

Only the goals didn't want to fall like on Sunday in the 9:1 win over Füssen.

The SCR tried all means.

Sometimes defender Thomas Schmid tried to go it alone, sometimes rascal Alexander Höller, who shot Eisenhut at the schooners from behind.

Everything didn't work.

Top scorer Lubor Dibelka (eight goals, 13 assists) was also unlucky that evening.

So the failed attempts kept adding up.

In the end, a total of 33 shots at Memminger Tor were recorded in the statistics, only two were in it.

Not a particularly great record, but in the end it was easily enough for SC Riessersee against the still unsettled ECDC Memmingen.
