The Supreme Court of the Football Association convened today (Wednesday) to discuss the appeals filed by Hapoel Tel Aviv and Maccabi Tel Aviv over the punishments they received following the derby events.

The hearing was chaired by Amnon Strashnov, and at the end of it, it was decided to reject the requests, and leave the punishments as they were.

The reds were punished in three games without an audience and in a radius game, while the yellows were punished in three games in which gates 10-11 in Bloomfield will be closed.

Hapoel Tel Aviv has already started to serve the punishment and hosted Kiryat Shmona in front of empty stands.

Maccabi Tel Aviv's punishment will begin on Saturday, in a match against Sektia Nes Ziona.

Maccabi Tel Aviv was represented in the appeal by CEO Sharon Tamm and legal advisor Yael Margalit. From Hapoel Tel Aviv came owner Sharon Nisanov, attorney Roi Rosen and CEO Odalia Friedman, who will finish her position in the near future.

"We fear that there will be no escape from a significantly more severe punishment, to the point of reducing points and stopping activity," the judges concluded.

It is also written that "but by a miracle the massive use of these means (smoke grenades and pyrotechnic means) did not end in injury to the soul. There is no need to wait, in our humble opinion, for people to be hurt and the incident to end in disaster, in order to order the severity of the punishment, as the lower court ordered, while also doing A proper distinction between the behavior of the fans of the two teams."

17:35:

The judges decided to reject the appeals of Hapoel and Maccabi Tel Aviv.

He concluded to the media: "We hope that the judges will listen to what we said and we will get a reduction or cancellation of the sentence. It is important that the court understands that teams are doing their best and it is not possible that we will receive an incentive. Maccabi Tel Aviv invests huge sums in security. Beyond that, we stand trial here all the time under aggravating circumstances I understand that Maccabi Tel Aviv is interesting and strong, but it cannot be that because of this we will be severely punished."

14:12 -

The discussion is over.

Maccabi Tel Aviv asked at the end that the decision be made as soon as possible because they have a game on Saturday against the Ness Ziona section and they need to know how to prepare.

14:04 -

Sharon Tamm, CEO of Maccabi Tel Aviv: "What should team owners do?

We invest a lot and we are always punished so that they can see and be seen.

Maccabi Tel Aviv is always offenses under aggravating circumstances.

You don't give us an incentive for everything we do.

You can't sue the police, but there is an impossible situation here."

"If we had stood trial alone, the punishment would have been different."

14:02 - Margalit continued: "They got tougher with us because we stand trial together with Hapoel Tel Aviv. If we stood trial alone, the punishment would be different."

13:59 -

Margalit: "Maccabi Haifa and Hapoel Be'er Sheva received a financial fine for flares and we closed the stands for three games. Why is everything on the backs of Maccabi Tel Aviv? The court is pushing for individual punishment and giving a collective punishment. This is only the second time we are on trial the season".

13:54 -

Attorney Yael Margalit on behalf of Maccabi Tel Aviv: "Sir called the events a mega event, but as far as the Maccabi Tel Aviv fans are concerned, this happened in many games. In many identical and even more serious cases, teams stood trial for the 16th time and only received a fine."

Streshnov replied: "That's why the punishments should be made worse."

He asked the court to take notice of the owner.

13:49 -

Sharon Nisanov asked to speak: "We are fighting a brutal war with the rioters, we have given names to the police. Since I have been fighting the fans, they have thrown blocks at my house. Pigs are thrown at my door and I do not raise my hands. I am the victim here. I have a family and I pay Price. I'm not a billionaire. My budget is built on income. Shekel for shekel. I ask the court to take us, the owners, into consideration."

Strashnov replied: "You have to include the fines in the budget as well."

13:45 -

The discussion between Strashnov and Rosen continues, the lawyer: "In this specific game, Hapoel Tel Aviv could not have done anything.

It is impossible to put the whole case on Hapoel Tel Aviv.

The court's punishment spurs the offenders on.

Hapoel Tel Aviv has 9,000 subscribers and the main sufferers are the good fans.

This punishment is unreasonable and disproportionate."

Judge Strashnov to Attorney Rosen: "Do you want me to deduct points? Don't tell me what not to do."

still there.

13:41 -

More from Attorney Rosen: "The court wrote that the decision hurts.

The Israeli police did not do enough to prevent what happened.

Hapoel Tel Aviv cannot break into the stands and pull out the fans.

The CEO of Hapoel Tel Aviv, who is here, resigned because the team's fans came to her house with chickens' throats. There is a small group of criminal rioters out of thousands of fans. The court gives them a reward. You have to be blind not to see that."

1:39 p.m. -

Rosen continued: "We are placing responsibility here on a team that was not responsible for security. The host team is not responsible for security....we were guests. Even if Hapoel Tel Aviv had hired Sheitat 13 to secure the event, the result would not have been different." .

Streshnov replied: "That's why you have to play without an audience."

13:38 -

Attorney Roy Rosen on behalf of Hapoel Tel Aviv: "There is an unusual legal process here in which legal responsibility is imposed for acts committed by other individuals. There is a defined audience that is difficult to characterize, and the vicarious liability must be examined. When we impose a penalty by virtue of vicarious liability, there is a method of implementation that must be individualized ".
