Youth League: after a crazy match in Turin, PSG qualifies for the round of 16

2022-11-02T17:23:19.656Z

During a crazy meeting, the Parisian titis wasted a three-goal lead to concede a draw (4-4) in Turin. They qualify

Mission accomplished for the titis… But it was hot!

While they had a lead of three goals (4-1), the PSG Under-19s conceded a draw (4-4) after an incredible comeback from Juventus Turin in stoppage time. This point allows them all the same to qualify directly for the knockout stages of the Youth League, scheduled for February 28 and March 1, 2023. Ilyes Housni, author of his 7th and 8th goals of the competition and Ismaël Gharbi scored twice.

The match: totally crazy!

Young people delight us.

Under pressure (we should not lose) for this trip to Italy, the PSG titis quickly got their hands on this meeting.

More comfortable technically and collectively, they opened the scoring thanks to Ismaël Gharbi (6th) after a full axis recovery from Ayman Kari.

Enterprising, the players of Zoumana Camara then took off on a festival of striker Ilyes Housni.

The striker from Créteil (Val-de-Marne) crossed half the field to finish with a right foot roll (17th).

This same Housni first misses the double by one foot (46th).

Which offered a highlight to Juventus Turin.

A goal from Yildiz (50th) for the 1-2 preceded a great opportunity signed Hujisen (53rd), narrowly exited by Moutet.

And it was again on a breakthrough from Kari that PSG made the difference.

After a transmission from Gharbi in the area, Muntu Wa Mungu perfectly finds the inevitable Housni alone in front of goal (57th) for the 3-1.

Everything is fine ?

Not really.

Because Nehemiah Fernandez-Veliz received a second yellow synonymous with exclusion (75th).

And, despite a fourth goal signed Ismaël Gharbi (84th) with the left foot, the Parisians completely missed the match by conceding three goals in added time (90th, 90th + 3, 90th + 5)!

Lorenzo Anghelè's sequence, chest control - volley, for the equalizing goal is superb.

🔚 It's over in Turin.

The player: Ilyes Housni

He is the top scorer in the Youth League group stage.

By scoring his 7th and 8th goals of the competition, the Parisian striker confirmed his great form at the start of the season.

A double against Juventus (5-3) on September 6, a goal against Haifa (5-0) on September 14, another against Benfica (0-1) on October 5, a double against the same Portuguese on October 11 ( defeat 3-2) and, therefore, a new double today.

All at just 17 years old.

Released a few minutes from the end, he would have deserved a nice ovation if the meeting had been played in Paris.

The number: 20

PSG conclude the group stage with the second best attack in the competition: 20 goals scored in 6 games, or 3.3 per game.

Including nine in two games against Juventus… That's as much as Liverpool but three less than Real Madrid, one of the favorites in this Youth League.
