A goal in extra time last night (Wednesday) by Sami Ofer in the great 1:6 over Maccabi Haifa, gave Benfica the first place in Group 8, leaving PSG in second place after the jubilant Portuguese.
Christophe Galtier's team of stars, admittedly achieved 1:2 in Turin against the old lady, but the second half in Haifa changed all the plans and left the French shocked and with quite a few complaints at the end of the game.
On rappelle juste that l'arbitre de Maccabi Haifa - PSG n'avait pas fait jouer le temps addonement quand Benfica got 3 minutes à 5-1...

At the end, coach Christophe Galtier complained about the lack of uniformity among the referees: "I'm just pointing out that in our previous game against Maccabi Haifa at home, the referee did not add a minute beyond the 90th minute and did not give extra time in a 7:2 situation.
Today Banfika received extra time with an advantage of 1:5.
It doesn't really make sense to me.

Kylian Mbappe also explained at the end that the players were aware of the goal difference: "In the closing minutes they tried to warn us that Nafika was leading with a considerable advantage over Maccabi Haifa, during the game we didn't know anything but we realized towards the end that something unusual was happening in Haifa.
"Now we'll see what the lottery will schedule for us and we'll have to deal with what comes. In any case, we did everything we could."

Even in the French media, it was difficult to ignore the fact that PSG only finished in second place at home after Benfica managed to overtake them only because of a tie breaker of yellow cards.
"Messi and his friends did what was required on the grass in Turin, but they succumbed to a crazy finish in Israel."

We will fix it!
