Tölz wants to put pressure on Memmingen – trend reversal at Indians after change of coach?

Bad Tölz – It would probably be a mistake to feel safe.

Just because things aren't going well for the opposition: Started with high standards and a strong squad on paper, the Memmingen Indians have so far fallen far short of expectations and are behind the Tölzer Löwen in the Oberliga table.

The sporting low flight initially culminated in the resignation of head coach Björn Lidström at the beginning of the week.

Assistant coach Daniel Huhn will take over for the time being.

But the Tölz coach Ryan Foster is certain: "This is a top team that can do much more.

They won't stay down there, they'll come – but hopefully not against us.” The lions have to play in Memmingen this Sunday (6 p.m.).

The Tölzers won the first leg of the season with 5:2.

Since then, things have hardly gone up for the Indians: the second fewest goals in the league, the second-worst shooting efficiency among the 13 teams, underwhelming special teams, the contingent strikers around the Latvian Gints Meija "do not work," says Foster.

"So far," restricts the lion trainer and expects a trend reversal soon.

Disc deep, hard forechecking, pushing

That's why it's important for his players not to let the opponent develop in the first place.

Foster's prescription: "Shoot deep, hard forechecking, pressure defenders, I want us to be the rulers on the ice."

Top performers drop out, young people can prove themselves

This should be possible with almost four rows of storms.

Tölz will have to do without strikers Nick Huard, Max Brandl (knee injury, diagnosis still pending) and Felix Ribarik in defence.

Dennis Dietmann tries it again, but the license player still has a training deficit.

"Memmingen doesn't have that many young players anymore, we can keep the team busy at high speed," says Foster.

Ideally, you should be able to create your own chances from this.

Concentrated defense

Nevertheless, Foster expects a difficult performance because Memmingen still has its vociferous supporters behind them, who also want to see a trend reversal slowly.

Between the posts, Enrico Salvarani braces himself again against Memminger's efforts to attack.

On the defensive, Foster again relies on a concentrated defensive performance with the support of the storm faction.

And he hopes that the lions, who have also been on the decline recently, will also swing back to a positive trend.
