The Syrian Olympic Committee, represented by its President Firas Mualla, signed a contract with Olympic champion Ghada Shuaa as a sports advisor to the Syrian Olympic Committee.
Under the contract signed today at the headquarters of the General Sports Federation in Damascus, Shuaa will work to form specialized committees whose mission is to discover and refine talents in various games, within modern scientific training programs in coordination with the relevant games federations.
The head of the Syrian Olympic Committee, Firas Mualla, pointed out the importance of benefiting from the experience of the champion Shuaa, which she gained in the fields of sports work, indicating that her presence constitutes an important addition to the advancement of Syrian sports, performance and result by creating a new generation capable of competing strongly in foreign tournaments, especially Asian and Arab championships. According to Mualla, despite the importance of participating in it and receiving its medals, it is no longer a measure of the development of our athletes, so the goal should be aimed at continental and international forums.
Shuaa expressed her happiness to work with the Syrian Olympic Committee, where she said: Syria is rich in sports talents, especially in the countryside, and it needs to be revealed and refined in an optimal manner, adding: The next stage is a stage of intense work and requires the presence of qualified cadres at all levels.
Shuaa pointed out the importance of the presence of female sports teams in various games in international tournaments, as work will be done to prepare strong teams according to modern training plans, and to provide their requirements and supplies to be strongly present in the upcoming benefits, and to achieve remarkable results that are added to the Syrian sports treasuries.
The player, Shuaa, was born in 1972 and is considered one of the brightest Syrian athletes. She is the holder of the greatest achievement in the history of Syrian Olympic sports, as she won the gold medal in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, and she has many international and continental achievements to her credit.
