The 4:3 against TSV Peißenberg on Friday evening, which was hard fought in a partly exciting game, was already an announcement by the Erding Gladiators.

On Sunday against EHC Königsbrunn - in the second home game of the weekend - things didn't go so well for the Gladiators: After a strong first third they had to admit defeat 1:7 (1:0, 0:3, 0:4).

Erding

– As quickly as it stopped on Friday, it continued on Sunday at first.

The Koenigsbrunner had the first chance, but Thomas Hingel held.

In the 3rd minute, Basti Cramer, whose younger brother Tobi made his debut in the Erdinger dress, passed to Sebastian Busch, and he didn't give EHC goalkeeper Stefan Vajs a chance to defend himself.

It continued with the best opportunities on both sides - almost every minute.

First Florian Zimmermann ran alone to the EHC goal, after a dream pass from Roni Rukajärvi, but failed at Vajs.

Then Max Petzold was through on the other side, but Hingel remained the winner.

There were turbulent scenes in front of both goals, but no further goals were scored before the first break.

In the second half it got a little quieter in front of the gates, especially on the Königsbrunner side, because the gladiators hardly had any more chances.

The guests weren't as compelling anymore either, but in contrast to the first round, they now used half-chances to score.

After a rebound, Petzold scored to make it 1-1 (26').

Five minutes later, Marco Sternheimer surprised Erding's keeper Hingel and slyly pushed the puck into the near post to make it 2-1 (31').

This hit left its mark on the Gladiators, who were now becoming increasingly nervous.

And when Toms Prokopovics made it 3-1 for Königsbrunn after an unnecessary puck loss, that was something like the preliminary decision (35th).

The visitors picked up where they left off in the second period.

Sternheimer increased to 4:1 (44th), and Peter Brückner only had to push the puck into the empty goal to make it 5:1 (48th) after a brutal error in the Erdinger defense.

When Dennis Thousand received a five-minute penalty at Königsbrunn, Gladiators team boss Felix Schütz brought his goalkeeper off the ice for a sixth field player, but the outstanding Sternheimer made his hat-trick perfect with a shot into the empty goal to make it 6-1 (53 minutes). ).

And in the 58th minute Brückner even made it 7:1.
