The champions showed a lot of character and managed to recover from the defeat to Maccabi Tel Aviv at the expense of Hapoel B.S./Dimona • Niv Mashgav: "I will do everything I need to help the team win"

It wasn't easy, but Hapoel Holon returned to the winning track last night (Saturday) after leaving the shell hall with a dramatic 94:101 victory over Hapoel Beer Sheva/Dimona, thanks to a wonderful game by Eric Green, who led the list of purple scorers with 28 points.

For the champion, the game in the capital of the Negev was an important test of character.

Although the Purples did not shine, they managed to recover from the defeat they suffered from Maccabi Tel Aviv at the beginning of the week and returned to their smiles with an important away victory at Beit Hanegev, which raised their record to 2:3.

"We are happy about the important victory before the international break. We scored a lot of points and managed to win the game through the attack, on the other hand we conceded a lot of points and we have a lot of things to work on," noted Hapoel Holon coach Guy Godes at the end.

The Purples had to make do in the match without captain Chris Johnson, who has not been feeling well in recent days and did not register for the match.

In his absence, Holonia was looking for leadership and another player to step up and lead it to victory and got it from Hayden Dalton (season record 16 points), Freddie Bourdion (season record 10 points) and Niv Meshgav (17 points) who recorded their best game of the season, the latter even recording a record A career high of 17 points, including 10 in the last quarter.

"I think this year I'm more prepared for the opportunities I get and the situation that comes up every time. I'm here to do everything I can in every new game in order to help my team win," Niv Meshgav shared his feelings at the end.

The club complimented Sean Dawson, who last night looked committed and energetic on both sides of the field, contributed 8 points along with 4 assists and 3 rebounds in 25 minutes of play, which was a season record for the guard/forward in the purple uniform this season.

Also last night, as in quite a few games of the champion this season, it was Eric Green who took command and led the scoring list with 28 points, which made the difference in the evening when Joe Ragland was involved in a foul problem and contributed only 6 points.

The veteran striker's contract ends soon and both sides are interested in continuing the contract, as Green testified in an exclusive interview with Israel Hayom, when the club is doing everything they can to keep him until the end of the season.

Now the champions will go on national team break and return to the courts in about two weeks, when they will host Ironi Nes Ziona as part of the sixth cycle in the Winner League.

"Now we will go on vacation, we will work on what is necessary and we will return from it better and sharper to continue the work we have done until now."
