Next bankruptcy for the state league footballers of SE Freising: They lost 2-1 to Geretsried and gradually have to worry about staying up.

Freising

– The rapid descent of the SE Freising state league footballers continues.

At the start of the second half of the season, they lost to table penultimate TuS Geretsried 1:2 (0:2).

In the current condition, the Lerchenfelder have to worry about staying up in the league.

When Luka Brudtloff, who had just come on as a substitute, scored the goal with a quick shot from eleven meters (88'), the few die-hard SEF fans began to hope that their team could still turn the game around.

And there was a lot going on on the pitch in injury time too: the guests defended their narrow lead with all the permitted – and sometimes not entirely permitted – means.

Some Freisingers got upset about one or the other referee decision.

SEF captain Florian Schmuckermeier maybe a tad too much – the result was a yellow-red card (90+2).

The referees had their hands full trying to bring the match to a reasonably civilized end.

The referee had "no straight line" when whistling, Freising's player coach Florian Bittner complained.

"It was an absolutely unnecessary and avoidable defeat."

Conclusion: While the Geretsrieders were celebrating loudly on the pitch at the end, there was renewed frustration in the SEF camp.

After a short conversation with the players, Bittner immediately hurried towards the changing room.

"It was an absolutely unnecessary and avoidable defeat," he said later.

"I'm really angry that we can't get the ball over the goal line from one meter, but shoot the ball into our own goal." Things are anything but smooth at the moment.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

After an initial phase of scanning, it was the guests who caused a sensation.

They overturned the SEF defense with a fine diagonal pass – it was a good thing that Anastasios Karpouzidis only hit the post.

A little later, Bittner had perhaps the best chance to score before the break: TuS goalkeeper Sebastian Untch was on the sixteen, Bittner suddenly shot from over 30 meters, the ball hit the crossbar.

Bitter own goal sets the course for Geretsried

After that, there were only countable things on the Geretsrieder side: A collection of players in the SEF five.

The Freisinger didn't bring the ball out of the danger zone.

Sebastian Schrills somehow held off his foot and the ball rolled into the SEF goal to make it 0-1 (27').

The 0:2 was bitter, but also symptomatic: The communication in the SEF game only worked to a limited extent - and this resulted in Fabian Löw's own goal (39th), who wanted to pass the ball back to keeper Jonas Trost, but he did so at all hadn't expected.

In the end, the Geretsrieders only had to stop the harmless attacks by the Freisingers and wait for their mistakes.

"We won't get any more points this year," Bittner stated soberly.

That was the third to last match before the winter break – and the Freisingers urgently need it to gather new strength and find themselves.

Because from the outside you have the feeling that the team spirit is currently missing.
