26 players are on Hansi Flick's squad list.

On Thursday, the national coach will announce who is going to Qatar for the World Cup.

  • World Cup 2022: squad announcement of the German national team at 12.00 p.m.

  • National coach Hansi Flick announced his 26-strong squad on Thursday afternoon.

  • Question mark after injuries to two attackers: Are Niclas Füllkrug and Youssoufa Moukoko going to the World Cup?

  • Marco Reus will probably not make it again: This ticker is continuously updated.

Frankfurt/Main - Thirteen days before the first group game of the German national team at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, national coach Hansi Flick announced his squad.

A total of 26 names are on the list, which the 57-year-old will read out at a press conference on Thursday afternoon at 12 noon.

There could be a surprise, especially in the striker position.

Flick names squad for the World Cup: seven Bayern pros are there

A large part of the 26 squad places has already been taken, so the stars of FC Bayern Munich will be in the squad around national team captain Manuel Neuer.

In total, the record champions expect seven DFB players to be released.

In addition to Neuer, Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka, Jamal Musiala, Thomas Müller, Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sané are expected in the squad of their ex-coach Flick.

DFB squad nomination: Will Niclas Füllkrug or Youssoufa Moukoko drive to the World Cup?

There are still a few question marks, especially on the offensive.

After the injuries to Leipzig's Timo Werner and Wolfsburg's Lukas Nmecha, Flick will have to nominate a newcomer for better or worse.

Werder striker Niclas Füllkrug, who currently has the second most goals of the season with ten goals, is up for selection, but 17-year-old youth international Youssoufa Moukoko could also be nominated for the senior national team for the first time.

Things are not looking good for Moukoko's teammate Marco Reus, according to Sky and Sport1, the 33-year-old should not be in the squad and will therefore miss the next big tournament.

Whether his team-mate Mats Hummels and ex-Dortmunder and new-Frankfurter Mario Götze will travel to Qatar will also be seen on Thursday afternoon.

The day after, the Flick squad headed to the World Cup base in Qatar.
