With the participation of 90 male and female players who represented most of the clubs that play jiu-jitsu, the Open Sports Clubs and Homes Championship for the under-16 and 18-year-olds, which was held by the Martial Arts Federation in Al-Jalaa Sports City in Damascus, concluded.
Brega Club (Quneitra) won first place in the under-16 category, with 4 gold, 5 silver and 7 bronze, followed by Aleppo workers with 3 gold, 4 silver and 6 bronze, then Nadia Al Raha (Suwayda) and Tartous Police with a gold medal for each, while the women’s competitions for the same category ended by Club Al-Nasr (Quneitra) first with 3 gold, one silver and one bronze, then Al-Raha with one gold, three silvers and two bronzes. The Tartous Training Center got one, two silver and one bronze.
As for the under 18 years category, the results of the male competition resulted in Brega winning first place with two golds, two silvers and five bronzes, then Aleppo workers with two golds, two silvers and two bronzes, then Al-Mahrah with two golds and two silvers. Training third with bronze each.
The head of the Supreme Technical Committee of the game Hazem Ramadan pointed out, in a statement to SANA, that this tournament comes as a continuation of the series of martial games activities, and received wide participation from several clubs in the governorates. The aim is to build a new generation and select talents, train and refine them to participate in the upcoming benefits.
A number of players pointed out the importance of jiu-jitsu as an important combat sport that has many benefits, the most prominent of which is that it gives its practitioners discipline and endurance, expressing their willingness to double their training in preparation for more upcoming tournaments and awarding bright medals.
For their part, the championship cadres noted the good technical and organizational level that the championship came out with, in addition to the excellence of the arbitration system, which was established according to specific laws that depend on calculating points.
