Brest giving itself some air, Angers at their worst or Nantes half satisfied: find our tops and flops from the multiplex of the 15th day of Ligue 1.

Lille is reassured

If the game is shimmering, LOSC is struggling to validate the work of Paulo Fonseca in the results.

The last two matches, in Lyon (1-0 defeat) and against Rennes (1-1), demonstrated this.

It was therefore not necessary to miss against the red lantern of Ligue 1, Angers.

And the Mastiffs ensured: Tiago Djalo scored the only goal of the game, on a corner brilliantly taken by Rémy Cabella (36th, 1-0).

Lille had the opportunity to break, like José Fonte, also well served by Cabella on a free kick (45th + 1).

They vaguely doubted after the red card for Carlos Baleba (76th) but held on to consolidate their 7th place in the standings, and thus put pressure on Marseille (4th), Monaco (5th) and Lorient (6th), who did not haven't played yet.

Brest breathes before the truce

A breath of fresh air.

Just before the truce linked to the World Cup, Brest finally won at home this season, overcoming a recalcitrant Trojan team (2-1).

Romain Del Castillo opened the scoring from the penalty spot (55th, 1-0) before an own goal from captain Brendan Chardonnet (60th, 1-1).

A second Brest penalty gave Islam Slimani a chance... who came up against Mateusz Lis (76th).

Luckily, and because a Trojan had entered the box too early, the Finisterians had a second chance, which Steve Mounié (77th, 2-1) took advantage of.

More offensive, more aggressive, the players of Bruno Grougi go back to 16th place in L1 and avoid the start of winter in the red zone.

ESTAC, 13th, will have to wait for the post-Bruno Irles effect, sacked earlier this week.

FLOPS

Angers, the ax will fall

By losing to Lille (1-0), Angers conceded their 7th defeat in a row, their worst series in L1 in their history tied with that of January-March 2022. Even with a last quarter of an hour played at eleven against ten, the SCO never seemed able to falter the LOSC.

It would be a small miracle to see Gérald Baticle on the Angers bench on the restart, where a trip to Ajaccio awaits his team.

If the calendar was not lenient with the SCO before the break, the fact is that Brest, the first non-relegation, is 5 points.

Worst defense in the elite (34 goals conceded in 15 matches), Angers has never been in so much danger since its comeback in 2015.

Ajaccio-Nantes, two losers

A draw with the taste of victory for the Canaries, at home against AC Ajaccio (2-2).

Led 2-0 after the hour mark, Nantes reignited the flame of Beaujoire, by the inevitable Ludovic Blas (70th) and by a vicious center-shot from Moses Simon (89th).

A scenario which, as often this season, hides the misery in Nantes.

Because before that, Youssef Belaïli on penalty (57th) then Romain Hamouma after a counter-attack (66th) gave the ACA a second consecutive victory.

The promoted Corsican is back down to earth, and will have to resolve to pass the truce in the red zone, in 18th place.

Nantes, 15th, lines up a 4th game without a win in L1.

Before moving on to the 16th final of the Europa League which awaits him against Juventus, Antoine Kombouaré has many problems to settle in the race to maintain.
