Soccer in the desert: This year the World Cup will be held in Qatar for the first time.
Between November 20th and December 18th, the coveted trophy is at stake in six different stadiums.
France are the defending champions, while Germany take on Japan (23 November), Spain (27 November) and Costa Rica (1 December) in the group stage.
But where are the games actually broadcast?
DER SPIEGEL gives an overview.
Who is broadcasting the World Cup live?
As usual, the World Cup will be broadcast on a large scale on public broadcasters.
ARD and ZDF share 48 of 64 games (click here for the schedule and all results).
These include the encounters of the DFB selection (see below).
However, as with the European Championships last year, Magenta TV has also secured rights.
The Telekom broadcaster shows 16 games exclusively.
These include:
22 November: Argentina - Saudi Arabia
24 November: Switzerland - Cameroon
26 November: Tunisia - Australia
28 November: Cameroon - Serbia
1 December: Japan - Spain
In addition, Magenta TV will broadcast the eight parallel games on the last day of the group match, two round of 16, one quarter-final and the game for third place (if Germany is not there).
Who shows the German games?
Germany's opening game against Japan on November 23rd is shown on ZDF, as is the game against Costa Rica on December 1st.
The football classic against Spain, on the other hand, is broadcast by ARD.
The broadcasters also split up the possible knockout games, and ARD shows a possible final with Germany

The encounters will be commented on by Tom Bartels, Gerd Gottlob, Florian Naß and Christina Graf - as the first woman ever at a men's World Cup.
Presenter Jessy Wellmer will discuss the major event in Qatar with her guests four times during the tournament in the »Sportschau Thema«.
On ZDF, Katrin Müller-Hohenstein and Jochen Breyer alternately lead through the World Cup broadcast days.
However, the duo will report from the studio in Mainz.
The experts Per Mertesacker, Christoph Kramer and Martina Voss-Tecklenburg are at your side.
Moderator Sven Voss takes on the job of national team reporter in Qatar, and Fifa expert Markus Harm is also on site.
Béla Réthy, Oliver Schmidt, Claudia Neumann and Martin Schneider will comment on the games.
