The World Cup adventure for the German national team began on Monday.

Thomas Müller in particular was in a good mood before take-off.

Munich – In less than a week, the Winter World Cup will start in the desert.

The DFB delegation traveled from Frankfurt by plane to Oman on Monday.

The German national team will have their dress rehearsal there in the middle of the week before the big tournament - a friendly against Oman (kick-off: 6 p.m. German time).

After a week-long break, Thomas Müller could finally make his comeback in the last game before the World Cup.

Müller is in a good mood before the World Cup trip

The 33-year-old has not played for FC Bayern since October 26th - at that time Müller had to be substituted after just 27 minutes in the Champions League against Barcelona due to a hip problem.

In order not to jeopardize Müller's World Cup appearances, coach Julian Nagelsmann announced in November that he would no longer be integrated into the squad for the remaining games in the Bundesliga.

The friendly against Oman should therefore be of relatively great importance for Müller if he wants to gain some match practice before the World Cup.

If one interprets Müller's mood before leaving for the Middle East, the signs for a return on Wednesday are not too bad.

In a good mood, he joked around with his DFB teammates in typical Müller fashion before boarding the plane.

“Here we go!” Müller can be heard shouting several times, all recorded in two short clips on Instagram.

In the direction of Leon Goretzka, who can be seen in the background of one of the videos, he says in a joking tone: “Leon!

Memories quickly come to mind of the Instagram video that Müller recorded as part of Bayern's USA tour before leaving for Washington.

At that time, however, the teammates reacted rather annoyed to his good mood and sayings.

This time, however, Müller seems to be infecting the other DFB stars with his happy disposition.

But it is also clear that a trip to a World Cup is a different matter than a marketing trip before the start of a season.
