Media: Ferrari separates from team boss Binotto

According to media reports, Ferrari will part ways with team boss Mattia Binotto.

According to media reports, the traditional Formula 1 racing team Ferrari will part ways with team boss Mattia Binotto after this season.

Rome – After four years at the top of the Scuderia, the Italian will be replaced because the team was never able to compete for the title at the end.

This was reported by the "Gazzetta dello Sport" and other Italian media.

Frédéric Vasseur is the favorite to succeed him;

the Frenchman is currently still team boss at Alfa Romeo.

There was initially no official statement from Ferrari on the reports.

Binotto took over Ferrari as team boss in 2019.

In the season that is now coming to an end, it initially looked as if the Italians and their driver Charles Leclerc from Monaco had the best chance of winning the title.

But then the Scuderia made a number of mistakes and strategic mishaps and world champion Max Verstappen (Netherlands) in the Red Bull was able to defend his title early.

According to "Gazzetta", Ferrari boss John Elkann already considered Vasseur as Binotto's successor in 2021 - but then the Swiss-born Italian was allowed to continue.

The 54-year-old Frenchman has held positions of responsibility in various lower and higher-class motorsport teams since the 1990s.
