The players of EC Peiting should not lack the necessary motivation.

Two prestigious duels are on the program for the upcoming weekend.

Peiting

– EC Peiting was allowed to take a breather because of the Germany Cup.

Last Sunday, coach Anton Saal's men, like the entire Oberliga, had no games.

That's why the coach gave his team three days off.

With a relaxed training session on Monday and intensive sessions starting on Wednesday, the ECP then prepared intensively for the derby on Friday (November 18) at SC Riessersee (8 p.m.).

Riessersee has now overtaken Peitinger in the table

"The SCR is definitely highly motivated after the first leg defeat," Saal is convinced.

In the first duel five weeks ago, his team beat Werdenfelser 4-2 at home.

In the first phase of the season, things didn't go well for the Garmisch-Partenkirchen team anyway.

"In the meantime, however, they have caught up," says Saal.

For him, the SCR is still one of the top teams in the Oberliga Süd.

In the meantime, the team of star coach Pat Cortina has also overtaken Peitingen in the table.

Riessersee (12 games/24 points) is fourth, Peitinger (14 games/21 points) slipped down to seventh after the surprising 2-1 defeat in Landsberg.

Peiting's coach Saal confident: "We want to get something there"

It's crucial for Saal to get a grip on the Werdenfelsers' front row with Robin Soudek, Kevin Slezak and Lubor Dibelka, who together have scored 26 of SCR's 54 total goals.

"We showed good away games in Deggendorf and also in Landsberg, why shouldn't we also succeed in Garmisch-Partenkirchen?"

"We want to get something there."

Assistant coach Ty Morris back on the gang against Memmingen

Of course, that also applies to the home game on Sunday (November 20) against ECDC Memmingen (6 p.m.), where assistant coach Ty Morris will also be there again.

During his guest appearance in Landsberg last Friday, he had a verbal argument with the team of referees, and Morris was given a game penalty.

Therefore he is suspended for today's game at Riessersee.

Memmingen hasn't really got going yet

This season, things haven't gone according to plan for the Memmingers, who are the reigning German Oberliga runners-up.

That's why coach Björn Lidström, who inherited successful coach Sergej Waßmiller, also had to go.

Long-time player Daniel Huhn took over the coaching job behind the gang for him.

"Memmingen have a ripped-off team that we don't really like," says Saal about the current ninth-placed team, against whom the ECP has always found it very difficult.

Peiting's coach can play against Memmingen with four rows

At the start of the season there was a 2:3 defeat in Memmingen, in the previous season all four games were lost against ECDC.

"With the fans behind us, we want a home win," says Saal, who, with the exception of Marco Habermann and Tim Rohrbach, can draw on the entire squad.

Since the Peitinger U20 team is free in the DNL III, additional players are available.

"That's why I'm going to play with four rows in both games," Saal says, allowing at least a little look at the cards when it comes to the tactical orientation.
