The "Miners" are playing their away game in the Bayernliga against an opponent who has experienced an unexpected high this season.

On the other hand, the following opponent appears to be more predictable.

Peißenberg

– The Peißenberg “Miners” still have two games to play before the first half of the Bayernliga season is over.

At the end of the round, a contrasting table awaits you.

On Friday (November 18) they will be challenged by the "Donau Devils" of VfE Ulm/Neu-Ulm (8 p.m.), who are lurking right behind them in fourth place with the same number of points.

On Sunday (November 20), the Peissenbergers are expecting the "River Rats" Geretsried (5.45 p.m.), who are listed in twelfth place in the table.

Change of trainer provides an upswing at Ulm/Neu-Ulm

"The people of Ulm started very well," Peißenberg's coach Sepp Staltmayr has great respect for today's opponent, who finished last season after the main round.

The Swabians then changed coaches, this season Martin Jainz is behind the gang.

That obviously gave Ulm a boost, with hardly any changes in the squad.

The Czech striker duo Martin Podesva and Dominik Synek are also part of the VfE success story.

The club was able to keep both players.

It paid off, together they have now collected 55 scorer points.

"Ulm is also willing to run 60 minutes," said Staltmayr, praising the hosts.

He expects the same commitment from his team.

"We have to be wide awake right away and work on the opponent." The only duel between the two teams last season was won by the "Miners" 8:1 away.

After a weak start, Geretsried has now recovered

There were two wins in 2021/22 for the Peissenbergers against Geretsried (4: 2, 5: 2).

That's why Staltmayr doesn't see the comparison with the twelfth place in the table as a sure-fire success.

“We have known the Geretsrieders for many years.

They have a well-established team that has recovered after a bad start to the season,” warns Staltmayr against taking Geretsried lightly.

The “River Rats”, hardly changed compared to the previous season, only got two points from the first six games.

Geretsried's coach resigned for personal reasons

However, the poor sporting record was not the reason for the resignation of Rivers Rats coach Stefan Roth.

Peißenberger cited private reasons for this.

Kevin Olivo will be in charge of the team as interim coach until a new coach is found.

"We also have to be ready against Geretsried," said Staltmayr, expecting his men to perform with concentration.

Except for the long-term injured, all players are available to him.
