RKB Solidarity Wartenberg waived because of the large construction site in town.

Another bad news: Membership is falling.

But the solos already have an olan.

Wartenberg – Chairman Markus Remde presented a mixed balance sheet at the annual general meeting of RKB Solidarity Wartenberg in the Hotel Reiter.

Membership has been declining since 2016, but over the past year the downward curve has steepened.

Now the association has only 106 members.

Remde also attributed this to the pandemic.

The sense of community has been lost.

2022 was the first year without major pandemic-related restrictions: "This year we wanted to get started again." The main event, the Whitsun cycle race, had to be relocated due to the large construction site in town.

"It was a good event," said the Chair, who thanked all the volunteers who worked.

"The echo was divided," he also said.

That was because the normal route past the market square was more attractive.

On top of that, it proved difficult to block off the route.

Because there are no sidewalks in some areas of the track, the chairman even had to report real safety problems because people simply walked onto the racetrack.

"The number of participants was okay, so it was a good thing."

The chairman knew that in 2023 the race would not be able to take place on the market square either.

So the board decided to forgo the bike race in 2023.

The focus will be on club life itself, in the groups.

That brought him back to the topic of cohesion in the club.

"We're doing a kind of reset button now," said Remde, who emphasized: "That doesn't mean that there will never be a Whitsun bike race again."

Second chairman Robert Schweiger added: "I think it's a pity too, but we need five to six people to do it.

We just don't have that." For the Vice, there is also the age structure.

"You're starting to notice that there are fewer members.

We have to work against that,” explained Schweiger.

Sports director Dennis Graupner reported that the Sunday trips had been added to the program.

Three big races were driven, Moosburg, Rottenburg and Erding were the destinations.

"We can pat ourselves on the back." In terms of sport, Corona had not deteriorated, he was happy.

"That was very cool." Goran Galusic scored the most points in the really tough races outside of Istria, including in Istria.

They were in Croatia over Easter, which strengthened the team spirit, said Graupner.

Parts of the program for 2023 are also aimed at the families of the members, precisely to strengthen cohesion in the association.

The situation affects the cash register.

Treasurer Andreas Ebner had to report a loss of 942 euros.

1232 euros are left over from the Pentecost race.

However, the club still has around 25,000 euros in reserves, so there was no debate about it in the meeting.

Indoor cycling is now offered again Tuesday from 7 p.m., Thursday from 8.15 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m.

Klaus Schauer is responsible here and announced these times.

In his words, the training camp in Mallorca is “fixed”.

The active people want to pedal there for a week.

In his greeting, sports officer Michael Pröbst appealed for the Whitsun cycle race to take place again in 2024.

It would be nice for Wartenberg.
