A Danish correspondent is threatened while reporting.

The 2022 World Cup in Qatar is just around the corner.
While the participating national teams are making their way to the emirate, journalists from all over the world are also gradually traveling to Qatar.
In the run-up to the World Cup, freedom of the press in the host country was also a major issue – while Germany is divided over a possible boycott.

The Danish correspondent Rasmus Tantholdt from TV2 was disturbed in his live reporting in the run-up to the World Cup in Qatar.
Tantholdt was also threatened by security forces in Tuesday's incident to destroy the camera used.

This is a public place," Tantholdt said to the security forces and showed his accreditation: "We can film wherever we want.

That didn't happen, according to TV2, the journalists had to wait half an hour after the incident until a supervisor of the security forces agreed with the TV team.
After all, there was a quick apology from the Qatar office for international media.

Despite the apology, the incident worries Tanholdt.
“The thing is that if you report as a free medium, you can be attacked and threatened.
This is not a free and democratic country,” the Dane continues.
The American Grant Wahl also reported on his website about an incident that affected freedom of the press.
Wahl said he wanted to pick up his work ID from the official accreditation center and photographed the slogan "Now is all" on a wall.

Qatar is ranked 119th out of 180 in Reporters Without Borders' press freedom rankings.

, around 22,000 cameras will monitor spectators in the stadiums and on the streets.
