After the refusals of several international stars, only one artist confirmed his presence this Sunday in Qatar to launch the competition.

But who will sing at the opening ceremony of the World Cup?

Two days before the start of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, the mystery still hangs over the identity of the artists who will perform at the Al Bayt stadium, which will host the Qatar-Ecuador opening match this Sunday.

After the refusals of Rod Stewart, Dua Lipa and Shakira, only one name has so far been confirmed: that of Jungkook, one of the members of the star group of K-pop BTS.

On social networks, many photos already testify to his presence in the country.

He will perform solo at the ceremony, without other names having been announced alongside him.

Concerts throughout the competition

If Qatar struggles to put forward a big name for the opening ceremony of its World Cup, the country is far from being boycotted by international artists.

On the occasion of the competition, two festivals will take place in the country in parallel: the World Stage in Doha, and the Aravia in Al Wakrah in the south of the country.

And their programming has nothing to envy to other international events.

The Black Eyed Peas, J. Balvin, Post Malone, Robbie Williams and Maroon 5 are expected at World Stage.

The second festival will be more focused on electronic music, with many stars of the genre on display: David Guetta, Calvin Harris or Afrojack, but also Benny Benassi and Fatboy Slim.
