The Israeli who won a silver medal at the World Championships is hungry: "There is something to strive for, I will get stronger and stronger from time to time. I trust Yachiam Sharabi, the best national team coach in the world, to bring me to a higher place."

Dana Azran celebrated tonight (between Thursday and Friday) the silver medal at the World Championships being held these days in Mexico, becoming the first Israeli in history to do so.

The 21-year-old Azran had a long and great day of fighting, when she was only stopped in the final, but the broadcasters were also unanimous that this is just the beginning for her and we will see a lot more of her in the coming years.

"It's a crazy feeling that will take me a while to digest," said Azran a moment after she received the medal, "meanwhile I'm a little bummed that I didn't play the anthem and that I lost in the final.

There is something to strive for, I will come stronger and stronger from time to time.

I trust Yachiam Sharabi, the best national team coach in the world, to bring me to a higher place."

"I thank all the excellent team that Israel has, without whom this day would have looked completely different. To the team members and training opponents, the entire management of the association, and to the people who have been with me since I was a child, my family who supports me even in the difficult moments and who always taught me to aim for the highest. Fingers crossed for the rest of the team members who will compete in the coming days and I hope we will return with more achievements as a team.'

The national coach Yachiam Sharabi added:

"An excellent day by Dana who proved her high abilities and could also end up world champion.

I am happy that she joins the impressive achievements of our strong team.

Avishag Samberg had an excellent day of fights and unfortunately due to a mistake she missed the medal.

I wish the rest of the competitors the best of luck in the coming days.'

Yehuda Mein, chairman of the association:

"An excellent achievement by Dana Azran and the professional team led by Yechiam Sharabi."

The Israeli Taekwondo team proves once again that it is young, talented and high-quality, and we are on the right track to continue advancing towards the next goals.'
