At the end of the outdoor season, there will be another real cracker on Saturday afternoon in the Waldstadion in Oberweikertshofen.

Olching/Oberweikertshofen – From 2 p.m., SC Oberweikertshofen and SC Olching, the currently two highest-ranking teams in the district, will face each other in a derby.

The starting position of the two teams shows certain parallels: Oberweikertshofen, who is ninth in the table with 25 points, has lost the last three matches, as have the guests, who are in 13th place with five points less.

So for both teams it's not just about prestige, but also about improving the situation in the table.

"The 4-0 defeat in the first half of the season still rankles us," says Oberweikertshofen's sporting director Uli Bergmann.

“Of course we want to make up for this disgrace.

I'm sure the players don't need any special motivation.” The three defeats in a row brought a lot of unrest to the promoted team from outside, reports head coach Dominik Sammer.

"But both teams aren't exactly bursting with self-confidence for understandable reasons," says the coach.

The individual mistakes that were made recently against Schwabmünchen must be corrected, then the revenge should succeed, said Sammer.

"Whoever wins the derby will certainly live out the quieter Christmas days," says Sammer with a laugh.

Compensation: "You can have them - but not until next year"

If Olching's trainer Martin Buch has his way, it would be his team that experienced the more relaxed holidays.

He is aware that the last few games have not gone so well.

“But we actually always looked good in derbies,” says Buch.

"Everyone here is looking forward to it." The coach is going into the derby with a good feeling.

It is clear to him that Oberweikertshofen is looking for compensation.

"They're welcome - but not until next year," says Buch, laughing.

The anticipation is clouded by Luis Hoti's injury.

In the final training session, the 18-year-old's kneecap jumped out without any external influence.

However, the final diagnosis is still pending.
