The 20-year-old Azran, who is considered one of the greatest talents, became the first woman from the country to obtain a medal in the prestigious competition, and obtained the second medal overall in Israel's history at the World Championships, since Ilan Goldschmidt did it in 2005 in Madrid when he won bronze in the weight up to 62 kg.
This medal, which comes after four years in which the World Championships were not held due to the corona virus, continues Israel's line of progress in Taekwondo, with medals in the European Championships in recent years, when the peak came at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics with Avishag Samberg's bronze.

In the grand final, the Israeli-Uzbek Svetlana Osipova, the bronze medalist from the Asian Games, awaited the Asian Games, when the first set went to Azran, and in the second her opponent was able to equalize, but in the third and deciding set for the whole jackpot, the board was left at zero, the Uzbek scored more points in the first two rounds and therefore took the gold.
On the way to a medal, Azran opened the day of competition against Katrin Batili from the Ivory Coast, whom she defeated at the end of a close fight 1:2 in sets, and in the round of 16 she went up against Soline Avolotti, the Frenchwoman ranked 5th in the world, and surprised with an impressive victory of 1:2 in sets, when in the first she also left her opponent on zero and got 6 points of her own.

Later in the semi-finals, she defeated the German Lauren Brandl 0:2.
This achievement also continues the successful streak of Israeli sports - in the best year ever, when a total of 22 medals have been achieved so far from the branches of judo, swimming, gymnastics, athletics, fencing, sailing, and shooting, with 16 of them coming from the European Championships and all The rest from the World Championship, including Azran's.
