Karim Benzema: Will the Real Madrid star miss the 2022 World Cup?
According to the French sports newspaper, Benzema is said to have complained of a "stabbing pain" in the quadriceps of his left leg.
As a result, he had to stop training.
It is not about the same place, which is why the goalscorer from Champions League winners Real Madrid was injured in October.
The 34-year-old striker will be examined later in the evening, the report said.
It would be the next major setback for the tournament co-favourites and defending champions, who won the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
The French national team is already missing Christopher Nkunku (RB Leipzig), Presnel Kimpembe (Paris St. Germain), Paul Pogba (Juventus Turin) and N'Golo Kanté (Chelsea FC) due to injury.
The quadriceps thigh muscle runs from the pelvis to below the knee.
Benzema, who turns 35 on December 19, propelled his club Real Madrid to the Champions League title last season with 15 goals in 12 games.
In 2018, the massive attacker was not part of the world champion team due to disagreements with national coach Didier Deschamps.
After a discussion with Deschamps, he only returned to the squad of the "Équipe Tricolore" in 2021.

Defense chief Antonio Rüdiger (Real Madrid) recently had to be rested.
France will face Australia (November 22), Denmark (November 26) and Tunisia (November 30) in Group D at the World Cup in the Emirate (November 20-December 18).
