"Come to Bayern": Manuel Neuer lures BVB striker Youssoufa Moukoko to Munich

When BVB talent Youssoufa Moukoko was asked about his future at the DFB press conference, Bayern captain Manuel Neuer reacted at lightning speed – and clearly.

Doha - The German internationals enjoyed their training-free Friday, now it's time to get down to business.

On Saturday, two unequal DFB kickers took part in the press conference and exuded the ease that is required for a successful World Cup.

36-year-old DFB captain Manuel Neuer and youngster Youssoufa Moukoko, who turns 18 on Sunday, answered journalists' questions.

When it came to the future of the teenager, Neuer had a special piece of advice.

For his birthday, Moukoko only expressed one wish: "Three points against Japan, the first World Cup game is very important," said the youngest Bundesliga and Champions League player of all time.

"Mouki", as Manuel Neuer affectionately calls him, otherwise kept himself covered and modest at the press conference, for example he stated that a nomination at his age was not a matter of course.

The great talent of Borussia Dortmund can be shown at the World Cup on the largest possible stage.

One or the other club will probably also look at the contract term of the attacker, his working paper at BVB runs until summer 2023.

The 17-year-old was also asked about his future at the press conference.

"I didn't talk to Hansi about it.

We're not with BVB here, we're with the national team," Moukoko tried to answer diplomatically with a smile and added: "I'll decide in the end anyway."

I feel good in Dortmund, I can feel the coach’s trust and in the end you will know whether I’m staying or not.”

Surprisingly, Manuel Neuer commented on Moukoko's answer, but not into the microphone.

The FC Bayern goalkeeper briefly leaned over to his team-mate and whispered "Come to Bayern" - but clearly audibly.

A glimpse into the future or just a joke between the national players?

World Cup 2022: Will DFB striker Moukoko go the same way as Lewandowski, Götze and Co.?

In the past there had already been one or the other change from Dortmund top performers to Munich.

Robert Lewandowski, Mario Götze and Mats Hummels, for example, took a similar path to play for big titles with FC Bayern.

Moukoko, who recommended himself for the World Cup with strong performances in Dortmund, is apparently only with his head at the World Cup and only reacted with a wide grin to the joke of his captain, who was twice his age.

He only made his national team debut in a friendly in Oman.

In the group phase, Hansi Flick could certainly fall back on the beefy striker, precisely because of the lack of alternatives on the offensive.
