After yesterday's abandonment of a regional league soccer game in Munich, during which the unfurling of a pro-Kurdish banner caused a tumult, the police are now investigating charges of bodily harm, breach of the peace and property damage.

There were a total of 19 injuries, including ten police officers and nine Bayern fans.

The game between Türkgücü Munich and the second team of FC Bayern Munich had just run for two minutes when Bayern fans unfurled a seven-meter-long banner with the inscription "FC Bayern Fan Club Kurdistan".

According to information from SPIEGEL, this is not a fan club officially registered with FC Bayern Munich.

The use of the banner was prohibited in advance of Türkgücü.

In the Heimstetten sports park, the fans of Türkgücü Munich reacted loudly and very emotionally.

When the folders wanted to remove the banner, they were attacked by Bayern fans.

The officers also used pepper spray and hit them with batons.

Several people then had to be treated by rescue workers.

Twitter users and fans accused the police of excessive harshness in view of the videos circulating.

The stadium announcer had also announced over the loudspeaker that a child had tear gas in his eyes after the police deployed and was looking for his father.
