4 years of anticipation and preparations have come to an end.
The 2022 World Cup kicks off tonight (Sunday) in Qatar - when the local team hosts Ecuador for the ceremonial opening match at El Beit Stadium as part of Group A.
The local team, the Asian champions, will play against the South American team in a critical match for both, with the winner knowing that they will take a big step towards the next stage.
Even before the teams go up to play, the tournament will open with a magnificent 30-minute opening ceremony that is expected to include seven shows that should, among other things, include tributes to all 32 teams that will participate in the World Cup together with symbols of Qatari culture.
In the Ecuador team, the prominent name is Ener Valencia, the Fenerbahçe striker who is considered a star, and for Qatar, the striker Ali - who has been building on him in the country for years.
