Geretsried – Hans Tauber jun. has a goal shot statistic.

not performed in the recent games of the Geretsried ice hockey team.

But despite the two defeats against Dorfen (3:4 aet) and in Amberg (2:4), the number of pucks fired by the ESC attackers was impressive.

Which says nothing about the quality of the shots, because it was not uncommon for the target to be too high, off the mark or exactly on the opposing keeper.

"You also have to realize that a significant number of our shots were blocked by the opponent," the ESC coach said.

He couldn't say the same thing about the Geretsrieder players - for example when they were outnumbered: "That's the difference." In addition, they recently made blatant mistakes in the game structure in Amberg, which immediately led to goals being conceded.

For Friday's home game against ERV Schweinfurt (see report on page 32), Tauber was also hoping for a successful outcome with a view to this Sunday: "A win against Schweinfurt would be a cornerstone for our performance in Peißenberg." Because the River Rats at the TSV have always had a hard time, an extra dose of self-confidence would certainly be a bonus.

Coach Stefan Ihsen's team is very strong again this year.

After recent clear victories against Buchloe (3:1) and in Pegnitz (12:1), the Miners are in third place.

Top scorer is Dominic Krabbat (27 points), who came back from EC Peiting.

The two newly signed US brothers Derek and Brett Mecrones have not been stingy with goals and assists either.

"There were always fast and tough duels against Peißenberg," says Hans Tauber.

According to the ESC coach, the team that is in better shape on Sunday will win.
