World Cup anthem singer Maluma has no desire for critical questions and simply leaves the studio during an interview.

Doha – It was foreseeable that there would be critical reporting and negative voices in the run-up to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

No football tournament in history has been eyed like the World Cup (November 20th to December 18th).

Unfortunately, official representatives poured even more oil into the already devastating fire shortly before the start.

World Cup song: Maluma, singer of the official anthem, affords an embarrassing performance

On the one hand there is FIFA boss Gianni Infantino with his confusing appearance one day before the opening game Qatar against Ecuador (Sunday, November 20th - 5 p.m., also here in the live ticker).

The head of the Football Association said at the press conference: "Today I feel very strong feelings, today I feel Qatari, today I feel Arab, today I feel African.

Today I feel homosexual.

Today I feel disabled, today I feel like a migrant worker”.

Scandalous statements that for many are emblematic of what is going wrong.

And then there's the singer of the official World Cup anthem: Maluma.

The musician had to face critical questions on Israeli television, then abruptly ended the interview, as also reported by tz.de.

"You're being rude," Maluma told the public broadcaster Kan reporter.

He had asked him whether his musical contribution to the World Cup would not gloss over the situation in the country - while other stars did not want to give their music to the football event due to the problematic human rights situation in the host country.

The journalist asked again: "Why am I being rude?

That's what people say?” But by then the singer had almost fled the studio.

It's a bit reminiscent of the ZDF documentary with the ambassador when the interview was stopped.

Together with US rapper Nicki Minaj and Lebanese singer Myriam Fares, Colombian Maluma is contributing the song "Tukoh Taka" for the World Cup.

The musicians should also perform live in Qatar on Saturday.

"I just came here to enjoy life, to enjoy football and the football party," Maluma said in Friday's interview, which he then left visibly pissed off.

The interview was scheduled to be broadcast in full on Israeli television this Saturday.

Qatar has been criticized for, among other things, the poor living conditions for foreign workers and its treatment of homosexuals.

The government of the emirate rejects the allegations.
