Sometimes the EC Peiting showed a defensive behavior that made them pull their hair out in the home game against Memmingen.
But at least it worked on the offensive.

- It was "completely chaotic" what Peiting's coach Anton Saal saw from his team in the home game against ECDC Memmingen.
But then his team improved, and after two defeats in a row, they finally won 6:4 (2:3, 2:1, 2:0) against the reigning runners-up in the Oberliga.
Less duels, more escorts
Assistant coach Ty Morris did not follow his team's game at SC Riessersee on Friday.
But even as a viewer of the live stream, he noticed that his protégés showed a pleasing build-up game, but they were unable to remedy their weaknesses in defensive play.
In their own third, the Peitinger leave the opponent too much space.
In the home game against Memmingen, there was initially no sign of improvement.
The home side conceded three goals in the first third.
They were miles away from a decisive duel, rather they provided a kind of escort at all Memmingen gates.
Peiting uses the first chance to lead
As shaky as the defense was, Peitinger were determined to go forward in the game.
They took the lead at the first opportunity.
“Indians” goalkeeper Leon Meder was only able to deflect a shot from Samuel Payeur, Thomas Heger dusted it off from close range – after just 41 seconds it was 1-0.
Then the ECP handed out the first guest gift, which Tim Gorgenländer, also with the kind help of goalkeeper Florian Hechenrieder, used to make it 1-1 (4th minute). The same game repeated itself: Heger brought Peiting back into the lead, and not a minute later it was 2 :2.
Four goals after eight minutes – at least the spectators got their money's worth.
The Saal protégés continued to act disembodied at the back and also got the third goal (18th).

But they made up for the deficit right at the beginning of the second period.
A shot from Andreas Feuerecker hit David Diebolder from the back goal, who scored to make it 3-3 (22nd).
And then came the showpiece from Peiting's most conspicuous player, Felix Brassard: After the Canadian hadn't found a pass, he simply shot at the Memminger goal from the turn - and it was already 4:3 for the ECP (24th).
In this section, too, the game swayed back and forth.
Since both teams continued to play a rather disembodied game in defense, there were plenty of chances here and there.
Significantly, the referees imposed the first penalty when 33 minutes had already been played.
Peiting's Lukas Gohlke had to go into the cool box, the Peiting team used their superiority to make it 4:4 through Peter (35th).
Peiting makes it exciting until the end
In the last section, the people from Peitingen managed to minimize the error rate.
Memmingen still had a few chances, but goalie Hechenrieder was now in his usual form and picked everything that came his way.
Sean Morgan set the course for victory with his goal to make it 5:4 when Memmingen's goalkeeper Meder slipped through the disc between the schooners (44').
However, it took until the last minute before Marc Besl made the decision with his empty-net goal to make it 6:4.
