The police operation against FC Bayern Munich fans in Heimstetten continues to make waves.

Several supporters and officials were injured.

Munich/Heimstetten – The pictures from Heimstetten continue to cause big discussions.

At the derby between Türkgücü Munich and FC Bayern II, there were riots on the sports grounds between the Munich riot police and fans of the German Bundesliga record champions.

The police officers used pepper spray and - as videos on Twitter are said to show - apparently also the baton.

The game was interrupted and then finally stopped after two minutes.

A police spokesman told

: "The colleagues were attacked and physically attacked." Accordingly, the fans would have shown resistance and the officers would occasionally hit.

The FCB supporters had shown a flag at the start of the game, which created a charged atmosphere in the small football stadium: the Türkgücü fans obviously felt provoked.

The banner read: "FC Bayern Fan Club Kurdistan".

After repeated requests, the fans did not remove the flag, so officers present called riot police for assistance.

The officials then used the pepper spray to go to the FC Bayern fan block and secured the banner.

The police report said: "Since further escalation between the fan camps would have been unavoidable, it has now been decided to remove the banner with police intervention."

The tumultuous scenes ensued.

As a police spokesman had already explained to tz.de

on Saturday

, several fans had to be treated medically because of the use of pepper spray.

Several ambulances were therefore requested.

The colleagues were in turn injured by blows from the fans, the police said on Sunday.

Meanwhile, a video on Twitter is polarizing.

This is to show how an officer repeatedly hits a fan lying on the ground with a baton after the man stumbled backwards on the steps of the stands.

Individual tweets speak of “police violence”.

According to him, it needs to be clarified how the beatings came about and what had happened in the run-up to the scene.

The officers wore cameras when they were accessed, and evidence is now being secured.

If allegations against the officials are confirmed in the post-processing of the operation, the State Criminal Police Office (LKA) will be involved if necessary.

So far, however, that has not happened.
