England coach Gareth Southgate achieved a historic record, after defeating Iran in Group B of the 2022 World Cup.
According to the Opta statistics network, Southgate became the first coach to achieve nine victories with the national team in the major tournaments “the World Cup and the European Championship”, surpassing Sir Alf Ramsey, who achieved eight victories with the Three Lions.
It is noteworthy that the England national team is in Group Two of the World Cup, next to Iran, the United States of America and Wales.
